Information as of 2001:  Phyllis attended Middle Park High School in Granby, Colorado, and graduated in 1984 having participated in volleyball, basketball, and track. In volleyball she was named All-State and was a two-time All-Conference selection in volleyball and basketball.

Phyllis played on four consecutive unbeaten RMAC championship teams (1984-1987) and had a 129-42 career record. She still holds the career record for blocks (850) and holds the single-season record for blocks (320), assisted blocks (213), solo blocks (107) and hitting percentage (.389). She was 2nd team All-American in 1986 and honorable mention All-American in 1987.

Rusty Crick, her MSC coach states, "I have coached hundreds of players and Phyllis stands out as one of the best to have attended and played at Mesa State. She did not lose a match against a conference team her entire four years at Mesa State."

Phyllis graduated with a B.S. degree in Business Management. She lives in Winter Park, Colorado with her husband, Robert, and son, Wyatt.
