Information as of 1999: Jeff Russell graduated in 1985 from Heritage High School in Littleton, Colorado. A two-sport athlete in high school, he was named All Conference in football twice, lettered in wrestling twice, and finished fifth at State his senior year. He was also an All State Honorable Mention selection in football, and competed in the All State Wrestling Dual Meet. At Mesa State College, Jeff earned the unique distinction of becoming a two-time collegiate All America selection in two sports - football (1988 and 1989), and wrestling (1988 and 1989). In football, he helped lead the Mavs to a conference championship in 1988, and was selected to the All America First Team. He was an All Conference First Team selection in 1987, 1988, and 1989, and was team caption in 1988 and 1989. In wrestling, he was an RMAC conference champion two years in a row, finishing fifth in the Nationals in 1988, and third in 1989. After graduating from Mesa State College in 1990, Jeff served as a police officer in Los Angeles (1990 to 1995). In 1994, he was named the LAPD Southwest Division American Legion Officer of the Year. He presently serves as an officer of the Aurora, Colorado Police Department, and serves as a volunteer coach at Heritage High School in Littleton. "He has done a great job working with the kids and is a great example for them," says Ray Barron, Heritage High head wrestling coach and assistant football coach. "He was a great young man as an athlete here, and the kids today really respect him and look up to him." Jeff and his wife Susan have a daughter, Mackenzie Elizabeth, and reside in Littleton.
