Information as of 2017:  Sean VanElderen spent just two years at Mesa State College but made the most of it on the diamond for the Maverick baseball program. VanElderen was a two-time All-American and two-time All-RMAC selection during his tenure. He was recognized as the RMAC Player of the Year in 2006 and later named to the RMAC All-Century team, which is comprised of the 12 greatest players in RMAC history.
 
The Buhl, Idaho native finished his career with a .401 batting average, 33 doubles, 32 homeruns, and 121 RBIs.

Following the 2006 season, VanElderen was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the MLB Amateur draft. He played the outfield for the Minor League Team of the Year in 2007 and was the Giants player of the month in June of 2007.

VanElderen graduated from Mesa State in 2006 with a degree in Business Finance and currently works for Rabo AgriFinance in Nampa, Idaho.
