 Information as of 2002: In high school, Daven was a All-Conference and All-State performer at Cortez High School. He led his high school team to a 4th place finish in the State Championship.
At Mesa State College, Bond was a two-time RMAC all-conference selection in 1985 and 1986. He played forward for the Mavericks basketball team. He is the fourth all time in field goals made (586), fifth in scoring (1502), fifth in free throws made (272) and ninth in rebounds (401). Bond averaged 13 points a game despite nagging injuries. Bond was also a very impressive pitcher for the Mesa baseball team. He had eight years of professional baseball experience. Son of John and Deanna Bond. He majored in business at Mesa State College. He is the owner of The Yard Baseball and Softball Academy in Englewood, Colorado.
