Women's Soccer

The Mavs, ranked 22^nd in the national preseason poll, opened the season in fine form, recording a pair of 4-0 wins over Lone Star Conference and South Central Regional opponents.
Junior goalkeeper Keely Wieczorek became the Mavs' all-time leader for career shutouts on Thursday night against St. Edward's and then added her 22^nd shutout on Saturday as she broke the tie with CMU Hall of Honor inductee Lindsay Blose (Icenogle), who had 20 career shutouts.
Fruita native Kiley Wells scored two first half goals in Thursday night's win over St. Edward's and added the game-winner in the first half of Saturday's win over St. Mary's.
Sarah Dunn also scored twice against St. Edward's.
Freshman Brooklyn Baird then tallied her first two career goals on Saturday against St. Mary's.
Another freshman in Ellie Duncan also scored her first career goal in that game.
The Mavericks will remain at home this week to face Northwest Nazarene on Thursday night at 7 p.m. before heading off to Laramie, Wyoming to face Division I Wyoming on Sunday at 1 p.m.
CMU will also host a neutral-site match-up between Western Colorado and Northwest Nazarene at 7 p.m. on Saturday night.
A new national poll is slated for release on Tuesday.

Triathlon

The Mavs will host a major event this week in conjunction with the Grand Junction Sports Commission. | EVENT WEBSITE
CMU will host seven other squads, including six NCAA Division I institutions, at the Desert's Edge Collegiate Cup on Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. at Highline Lake State Park in Loma.
The event will mark the first time that CMU will compete against other NCAA institutions in a home meet.
Defending national champion Arizona and fellow co-No. 1 preseason poll Arizona State are slated to be in the field along with No. 4 TCU, No. 5 Denver and No. 8 South Dakota.
The Mavs are ranked third in the Division II Preseason Rankings ahead of No. 7 Black Hills State, which will also be in Sunday's field.
Sunday's sprint race will feature a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike and 5K run in and around the park and neighboring county roads. | COURSE MAPS

Football

The Mavs, now 1-1, won their home-opener, 28-7 over Eastern New Mexico on Saturday night.
The Mavs scored 28 unanswered points, tying the game just over five minutes into the second half before scoring all 21 second half points.
Aiden Taylor ran for 113 yards and two touchdowns (30, 11) on 20 carries.
He was one of four rushers, who combined for 242 ground yards.
The Mavs averaged 7.7 yards per play, accounting for 379 yards of total offense.
George Soppe finished with a career-high 14 tackles, including two for losses, while adding a quarterback hurry.
The Mavericks held the Greyhounds to just 75 passing and 269 total yards.
CMU has a bye this week before starting RMAC play on Sept. 20 with the Parents' Weekend game against CSU Pueblo at 2 p.m.

Volleyball

The Mavericks, ranked 23^rd in the national preseason poll, went 3-1 on the opening weekend of the season to begin the Austin Albers coaching era at Angelo State's Kathleen Brasfield Invitational.
The Mavericks swept both Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Nazarene on Friday and then recorded another 3-0 win over UT Permian Basin on Saturday afternoon before taking No. 2 Angelo State to five sets.
Sadie Scoville, Henley Madsen and Allison Waller were all named to the all-tournament team.
Waller became just the tenth Maverick to eclipse the 1,000 career dig milestone in the rally-scoring era (2001-Present), recording 55 digs over the weekend to finish it with 1,001. She had 19 in the Angelo State match.
Scoville finished with 35 kills and nine service aces and had an 11-kill, 12-dig double-double against Angelo State.
Madsen had 33 kills and hit .308 throughout the weekend from her opposition position.
The Mavericks will continue non-conference and tournament play this weekend heading to Los Angeles for the Cal State LA Tournament. They will play Cal Poly Pomona, ranked 11^th in the preseason poll as well as the host Golden Eagles and Simon Fraser, both of whom were receiving votes in the poll.
A new national poll is slated for release on Monday afternoon.

Men's Soccer

The Mavs started off with a solid 1-0-1 effort at home over the weekend.
The Mavs managed a 1-1 draw with national preseason No. 10 Midwestern State on Friday night, recording a 58^th minute own goal.
The Mavericks then scored five times in the final 15 minutes to bust open for a 5-0 win over UT Dallas on Sunday afternoon.
Freshman Kamden Kooiman scored two goals in that scoring barrage as CMU scored three times in a stretch of just under three minutes between the 76^th and 79^th minutes.
Nathan Hernandez also had a goal and assist in the stretch while Nathan Beck made five saves to record the shutout after making two saves while giving up just one goal against Midwestern State.
The Mavs will be on the road this week, heading to Nampa, Idaho to play a pair of Great Northwest Athletic Conference and fellow South Central/West Super Reion foes Western Oregon and Northwest Nazarene.

Cross Country

The Mavs started their 2025 season by hosting the Gig Leadbetter Maverick Stampede at Lincoln Park Golf Course on Friday evening.
The Maverick women took second behind Western Colorado as Megan Hodges (5^th) and Autumn McQuitty (10^th) both recorded top-10 finishes.
The Maverick men took third and were led by Chase Brown's 11^th place finish.
The Maverick women were slotted 20^th in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Preseason Coaches' Poll, released last Wednesday, their highest ranking in 10 years. They were also picked eighth in the South Central Regional rankings.
The Maverick men were ranked tenth in the regional preseason rankings.
CMU is off this week and will compete at MSU Denver's Roadrunners Invitational on Sept. 20.

Men's Tennis

The Mavericks opened their season at the Colorado College Invitational over the weekend in Colorado Springs.
Emil Hultman won the men's singles "A" draw before inclement weather thwarted most of the later rounds of action on Sunday. | SATURDAY RECAP
Newcomer Gavin Hutter also went 3-0 in the "B" draw reaching the unplayed final.
Henry Scheck and William Leschig were also in the finals of the doubles draw, but unable to play it.
The Maverick men went a combined 14-6 in singles and 7-2 in doubles throughout the weekend.
They will continue individual tournament play this weekend, heading to the Washburn Invitational in Topeka, Kansas this Friday and Saturday. | LIVE RESULTS LINK

Women's Tennis

The Maverick women also opened their season at the Colorado College Invitational, enjoying a great deal of success.
Devyn Rodriguez reached the final of the "A" singles draw, which was left unfinished due to the aforementioned inclement weather on Sunday. | SATURDAY RECAP
Catalina Ballon also won her consolation draw and went 3-1 throughout the weekend.
Sophie Hartman and Taylor Nokes both advanced to the "B" final, which was also not played.
In doubles, newcomers Sophie Hartman and Valentia Gonzalez reached the final.
The Mavs combined for a 17-7 singles record and an impressive 8-1 doubles mark throughout the weekend.
CMU will play its only three duals of the season this weekend at the Pueblo Duals, facing CSU Pueblo, Fort Hays State and Colorado College.

Women's Golf

2025-26 Roster | 2025 Fall Season Schedule

The Mavs were picked fourth in the RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Senior Peyton Panzeri was named to the Preseason All-RMAC Team, announced in conjunction with the poll
Panzeri is one of five returners on Head Coach Kori Satterfield's 8-woman roster and was one of the Mavs' tri-leaders a year ago.
Now sophomores Hunter Gledhill and McKenzie Dolph also return as regular starters from last year.
The Mavs also have three newcomers in freshmen Hayden Hawley and Becca Washington as well as CSU Pueblo transfer and fifth year senior Anju Ogi, a late addition to the team.

Men's Golf

2025-26 Roster | 2025 Fall Season Schedule

The Mavericks, coming off a sixth straight NCAA Regional Tournament appearance, were picked first in the RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, that was released Tuesday.
The Mavs received three first place votes and topped the poll with 33 points.
Maverick redshirt senior Timmy Cavarno was also named to the 8-man Preseason All-RMAC team.
The Mavs were second team amongst the "others receiving votes" category of the Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Preseason Poll, released on Friday
Head Coach Scott Sullivan returns all but one starter from last year's squad that smashed their program scoring average record but will have to replace all-American Cole Beyer, who has graduated and moved into the professional ranks.
The Mavs open their jam-packed 5-tournament fall schedule at the Travis Roy Memorial Invitational in Sheridan, Wyoming on Sept. 15-16.
They will host the San Juan Intercollegiate presented by Timberline Bank on Sept. 22-23 at Bridges Golf & Country Club in Montrose on Sept. 22-23.

Swimming & Diving

The Mavericks will begin the exhibition season next Friday (Sept. 19), when they host their annual Intrasquad Meet.
The Mavs will also hold an Alumni Meet a week later on Sept. 26 before hosting the Intermountain Shootout on Oct. 3-4 to officially begin the season.
