School Records
Maverick athletes set three new school records during the RMAC Championships.
Teo Casados broke the men's 200-meter mark with his wind-legal time of 20.79 seconds in Sunday's final. That broke the official CMU record of 20.88 that Elijah Williams had posted in 2022.
Casados ran to a wind-aided time of 20.35 seconds at the 2025 RMAC Championships, which qualified him for last year's national championship meet but was not eligible for records.
Meanwhile,
Izaak Siefken broke his own javelin record from earlier this season by seven inches, throwing 68.75 meters (225-7) in his RMAC Championship defense.
On the women's side, Kammi Merrritt posted an impressive time of 58.89 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles, nearly a second quicker than McKenna Molder's 5-year old record of 59.84, set in 2021. Merritt won the RMAC Championship silver medal and is almost sure to qualify for the NCAA Championships as she ranks eighth nationally.
