2025 Outdoor (Freshman): Competed in five meets, including the RMAC Championships… Qualifier for the RMAC meet in both hurdling events… Placed tenth in the 400 hurdles with a season-best time of 1:03.84… Ranks fifth in program history with that time… Finished 16
th in the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.58 seconds, her best wind-legal time of the season… Had an all-conditions best of 15.41 (+4.7) at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Early Bird… Also ran on the Mavs’ 4x400-meter relay team at the Maverick Invitational, helping the Mavs to a third place time of 3:57.21… Had three top-5 finishes in that meet and four throughout the season.
2024-25 Indoor (Freshman): Ran in six meets during her debut season, contesting the 60-meter hurdles at each… Also ran in the 200 meters four times and in the 400 meters once… Set season-best times of 9.34 and 27.03 in the hurdles and 200 at the RMAC Last Chance Qualifier, helping her secure a spot in RMAC meet in the hurdles… Went on to place 15
th in 9.46 seconds at the conference championships… Posted a time of 1:02.82 in the her lone 400-meter effort at the ASU Qualifier #2... Won the 60 hurdles at the ASU Qualifier after taking second in her collegiate debut at the Mountaineer Open.
Prep: 2024 graduate of Jefferson Academy… Was a standout hurdler for the Jaguars and Coach Eric Thimsen… Took second in both the 100 and 300 Hurdles at the 2024 State Championships with the PR times of 15.22 and 44.17… Had also done the same as a junior in 2003… Earned second team all-state honors and was a first team all-conference performer… Set school records in the 300 Hurdles, 4x100 and 4x200 relays during her senior year… Won the Metro League Championship in the 100 and 300 hurdles as swell as the spring medley relay in 2023… Earned first team all-conference and all-state honors that year… Was a first team all-conference pick after winning the 300 meter hurdles at the Metro League meet as a sophomore in 2022… Also earned honorable mention all-state honors that year.
Personal: Is majoring in exercise science… Wants to complete her EMT/Paramedic certifications at CMU and then go on to become a firefighter and paramedic… Is also considering going into school again in a few years to go into physical therapy or athletic training… Daughter of Cathy and Frank Schaffer… Has two older siblings— Casey & Cody… Loves all things outdoorsy and athletic, especially volleyball and spikeball… Also loves to read and volunteer.
Why I Chose CMU: “I chose CMU because not only is the track team top tier, but the education is as well. There is an incredible human performance lab I am excited to work in as a part of my major. Overall, I love the very outdoorsy community and the campus culture where adventure and athletics are a major part of the lifestyle. There is also a really strong Catholic group that I know I will love to be a part of.”
