2026 Outdoor (Sophomore): Ran in six meets while earning a variety of honors.. Claimed First Team All-RMAC honors after winning the silver medal in the 400-meter hurdles at the RMAC Championships thanks to a career-best time of 52.19 seconds… Ranks second in CMU history with that NCAA provisional qualifying mark, which with the altitude conversion penalty that put him at 52.30 seconds… Was third in the RMAC, fifth (tie) in the South Central Region and 40
th (tie) nationally on the season-long performance lists and earned USTFCCCA All-South Central Region honors… Also finished ninth in the 110-meter hurdles at the RMAC Championships in a time of 14.90 seconds after posting a career-best of 14.63 at the Maverick Early Bird Open, where he won both hurdling events… Also claimed event wins at CMU’s other two meets and had four wins and four other second place finishes throughout the season as a whole… Ranks third in CMU history in the 110s… Was tied for seventh on the RMAC season-long list with the altitude-adjusted time of 14.67… Ran the 4x400-meter relay on two occasions, anchoring CMU to fifth place points at the RMAC Championships in a time of 3:15.75, third fastest in program history… Also ran the opening leg on the Chuck Hearing Invitational team that finished in 3:18.94, 11
th quickest in CMU history… Won a variety of academic awards as well… Was voted on to the First Team Academic All-RMAC squad… Also named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team and later earned a spot on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.
2025-26 Indoor (Sophomore): Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll… Ran in six meets, including the RMAC Championships… Focused on the 60-meter hurdles while also periodically sprinting in the 200 and 400 meters and on relay teams… Set a season-best time of 8.33 seconds in the last of his last five hurdling efforts at the RMAC Championships… Placed 11
th with that time… Ran to a time of 23.06 in his lone attempt of the 200 meters at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational… Had a season-best time of 50.45 seconds on the same track in Albuquerque during the New Mexico Team Open… Ran on three 4x400-meter relay teams, including the one at the Don Kirby meet that posted a time of 3:20.37, fifth fastest in CMU history.
2025 Outdoor (Freshman): Named as the RMAC Co-Freshman of the Year after a strong season in the hurdles… Reached the final in both hurdling events at the RMAC Championships, placing fifth in the 400 (53.96) and seventh in the 110 (15.09)… Earned Second Team All-RMAC honors in the 400 hurdles… Went on to set a season-best time of 52.35 at the Franson Last Chance Meet in Azusa, California… Was fourth on the RMAC performers list and 30
th nationally with that NCAA Championship provisional qualifying time… Posted a wind-aided season-best of 14.78 (+4.5) seconds in the 110-hurdles at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Early Bird… Was tied for sixth on the RMAC performers list with the altitude-adjusted mark of 14.82… Had a wind-legal season-best of 14.90 in the preliminaries of the RMAC Championships... Competed in five meets overall.
2024-25 Indoor (Freshman): Competed in six meets, including the RMAC Championships… Ran the 60-meter hurdles at all six… Finished fifth with a time of 8.37 seconds to claim Second Team All-RMAC honors in that event… Ran a season-best time of 8.25 seconds in the preliminary round… Ranks seventh in program history with that mark… Was tied for fifth on the RMAC’s season-long performers list with the altitude-adjusted time of 8.29… Claimed victory in his first two meets at the Mountaineer Open (Dec. 7) and the ASU Qualifier #1 (Jan. 24)… Also attempted the 200 and 400 meters… Ran to a time of 22.98 in the 200 at the Colorado Invitational after running the 400 in 52.71 seconds a week earlier (Jan. 25) at the ASU Qualifier #2.
Prep: Won both the 110 and 300-meter hurdle titles at the 3A State Championships for the Valley High School Vikings… Set a 110 PR time of 14.36 seconds to do so… Won eight meets in that event as a senior, while placing second in the other three… Took the Weld County and Patriot League titles… Also won in the 300 hurdles, eight times in ten meets, winning the county and league championships as well… Set a PR time of 38.11 at the Longmont Invitational… Took second in the 300 hurdles and fourth in the 110’s at the 2023 state championships as a junior… Placed fifth in the 110’s as a sophomore in 2022.
Personal: Is majoring in civil engineering… Is really interested in water and plans on doing something with that aspect of his career… Son of Holly Allen and James Brownell.
Why I Chose CMU: “I chose CMU because there is a great CMU/CU partner program for engineering. Also, I really wanted to be a part of the Track and Field Team.”
