Asa Keim both set multiple season-bests and stand in fourth and ninth place, respectively, through the first day of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which got underway with the first day of the combined events on Friday.
Pearson had a career-best time of 14.39 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, a full 15 hundredths of a second better than her former best and continues to set second in program history. She scored 924 of her 2,806 points from the day's four events in that discipline and added another 914 with a wind-aided personal-best of 24.71 seconds in the 200 meters as she tied for the win for that event.
In between, she recorded a mark of 1.46 meters in the high jump (4 feet, 9 ½ inches) and a shot put effort of 7.87 meters (25-10), which is another season-best.
Meanwhile, Keim also added three season-bests in his five events, racking up 3,238 points throughout the first day.
He started his day with a season-best time of 11.91 seconds in the 100 meters and ended it with another time of 52.30 in the 400, good for 712 points.
In the field, Keim recorded a season-best long jump mark of 6.13 meters (20-1.5) and was second in the field of 15 athletes with a shot put mark of 12.27 meters (40-3.25). He also cleared 1.79 meters (5-10.5) in the high jump.
