2025 Outdoor (Junior): Had another strong season, highlighted by NCAA Championship qualification, an all-region accolade and a pair of All-RMAC honors… Qualified for the national meet in the long jump thanks to a winning mark of 7.51 meters (24-7.75) at the Chuck Haering Classic, his first of what would be his six meet season… Ranks third in program history with that mark… Led the RMAC season-long performance list and was tied for ninth on the national performance list… Earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors as he was ranked third in the South Central Region… Went on to place fourth place at the RMAC Championships (7.06m/23-2) to garner Second Team All-RMAC honors before taking 21st at the national meet (6.97m/22-10.5)… Fared well in the triple jump as well, claiming a bronze medal and First Team All-RMAC honors with a third place finish and jump of 14.67 meters (48-1.75), his best of the season to that point… Went on to record a mark of 15.02 meters (49-3.5) at the Franson Last Chance meet in Azusa, California… Moved into fifth in program history with the NCAA provisional qualifying effort, which ranked him second on the RMAC performers list… Finished 28th on the national list in the triple jump… Won both events at the Maverick Invitational to finish the year with three event wins and eight top-6 finishes in ten total competitions... Was one of five Maverick men to earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team honors... Was also selected to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.

2024-25 Indoor (Junior): Had an impressive debut season with the Mavs, claiming two All-RMAC honors plus a silver medal at the RMAC Championships while serving as the men’s team’s lone NCAA Championship qualifier… Booked his trip to Indianapolis with a second place finish and season-best mark of 7.43 meters (24-4.5) in the long jump at the RMAC Championships… Ranks second in program history with that effort that allowed him to claim a first team all-conference honor… Was ranked 16th nationally and fourth on the RMAC’s season-long performers’ list… Placed 15th at the national meet with a mark of 7.02 meters (23-0.5)… Also earned a second team all-conference nod in the triple jump after taking fourth place with a mark of 14.26 meters (46-9.5)… Recorded a season-best of 14.82 meters (48-7.5) in his Maverick debut at the Mountaineer Open… Ranks sixth in program history with that NCAA provisional qualifying effort… Ended fourth on the RMAC’s performers list and 35th nationally… Claimed six wins throughout the regular season, winning the long jump in each of his first four competitions in that discipline… Also won the triple jump in his first two… Competed in six meets overall… Ran the 60 meters in three of them, registering a season-best time of 6.96 seconds and a second place finish at the Mines Winter Classic & Multi.

2024 Outdoor (Sophomore @ Colby CC): Qualified for and placed 15th at the NJCAA Championships in the triple jump with a wind-legal career best of 14.46 meters (47-5.25)… Had won that event at Fort Hays State’s Alex Francis Classic with a wind-aided best mark of 14.74 (48-4.5)… Also had another wind-aided mark of 14.86 meters (48-9) at Wichita State… Had a season-best long jump mark of 7.20 meters (23-7.5) there as well.

2023-24 Indoor (Sophomore @ Colby CC): Placed 15th in the long jump at the NJCAA Championships… Placed seventh in the triple jump at the Region VI/KJCCC Indoor Championships… Set season-best marks of 7.12 meters (23-4.5) and 14.30 meters (46-11) at the Washburn Open in the long and triple jump, respectively.

2023 Outdoor (Freshman): Took ninth in the triple jump and 12th in the high jump at the Region VI Championships… Had a season-best triple jump mark of 14.22 meters (46-8) at that meet… Also matched his season-best high-jump mark of 1.77 meters (5-9.75)… Set a season-best long jump effort of 6.88 meters (22-7) at the West Texas Spring Break Open…. Ran the 400 meters in 52.62 seconds at the Mark. A. Phillips Tiger Invite, hosted by Cowley College.

2022-23 Indoor (Freshman): Placed ninth in the triple jump and 19th in the high jump at the Region VI Championships… Had marks of 13.94 meters (45-9) and 1.64 meters (5-4.5).

Prep: 2022 graduate of St. George’s Senior High School… Coached by Derek Wells… Had marks of 14.41 meters and 6.78 meters in the triple and the long jumps.

Personal: Is majoring in civil engineering… Wants to become a chef, masseuse and civil engineer… Son of Linda Dean-Reckley and Frederick Peter Black… Enjoys cooking, cleaning, drawing and helping people.

Why I Chose CMU: “The program’s head coach made me feel at home. It’s a different experience with more resources, positive high caliber athletes and positivity all around campus.  It was a cultural shock that I was looking forward to. I always wanted to go to college in Colorado.”
