Women's Basketball

The Mavs, ranked 14^th in last week's WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches' Poll, extended their winning streak to seven as they opened up RMAC play with a pair of convincing road wins over UCCS and Colorado Christian.
The Mavs, now 10-1 overall and 2-0 in RMAC play, defeated UCCS, 73-47 on Thursday to avenge the Mountain Lions' 2025 RMAC Tournament Championship game win.
Mason Rowland scored a career-high 26 points on 10-for-20 shooting, while hitting four 3-pointers.
Olivia Reed Thyne also recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds while Jenna Krise added 14 points on 5-for-6 shooting.
Rowland then added 24 points while hitting six 3-pointers in Saturday afternoon's 78-43 win at Colorado Christian.
As a team, the Mavs lead the RMAC in both scoring defense (52.5) and scoring margin (+21.4).
Rowland (17.7) and Reed Thyne (16.5) rank second and fourth in the conference for scoring average while Reed Thyne is second in rebounding at 10.2, field goal percentage (.573) and blocked shots (1.4/game).
Rowland also ranks second in 3-point percentage (.429) and free throw percentage (.830).
Mykaela Moore leads the RMAC in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.4).
The Mavs have one game this week, hosting the Colorado School of Mines on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Orediggers are currently 3-6 overall and 1-1 in RMAC play heading into a Thursday night game at Westminster.

Men's Basketball

The Mavericks (4-4, 1-1 RMAC) split their first two RMAC games of the season, falling 92-80 at UCCS on Thursday night before claiming a 57-43 win at Colorado Christian on Saturday afternoon in Lakewood.
Ty Allred scored 54 combined points on the weekend, tallying 23 while grabbing ten rebounds to record his third double-double of the year at UCCS.
Five Mavericks were in double figures in that game as Cohenj Gonzales scored 13 while Mason Honeyman added 11. Ben Henderson and Clayton Jewell both had ten.
Allred then scored a career-high 31 points as the Mavs came from as many as 14 points down to win the low-scoring affair.
Allred also had 13 rebounds to tally his second double-double of the weekend.
Gonzales also had 11 points while Jewell had eight points and eight rebounds.
Allred leads the RMAC in rebounding (9.5 rpg) and is fourth in scoring (17.8).
The Mavericks will return home to face the Colorado School of Mines (4-6, 2-0 RMAC) on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Indoor Track & Field

The Mavericks opened their season at the Mountaineer Open & Multi in Gunnison on Friday and Saturday.
The Mavs combined for six event wins throughout the weekend, claiming two on Friday and four on Saturday.
Fifth-year senior Teo Casados set a new school-record and NCAA Division II Championship provisional qualifying time of 6.70 seconds in the men's 60 meters on Saturday as one of eight new top-10 marks in program history.
Sophomore Kendra Ritzmann won the women's triple jump on Friday with a NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 11.86 meters (38 feet, 11 inches).
Augustine Hancock (women's weight throw) also won on Friday evening before Antonio Wadsworth (men's 200 meters), Aidan Brownell (men's 60-meter hurdles) and Kaelea Gibson (women's high jump) joined Casados as Saturday winners.
Casados, Gibson and Ritzmann all lead the RMAC performance lists after one weekend of the season.
Both the men's and women's squads were picked fifth in the Preseason RMAC Coaches' Polls, announced last Thursday.
The Mavericks will now take an extended break for finals and the holidays before returning to competition on Jan. 24 at the Big Red Machine Open in Gunnison.

Women's Wrestling

The Mavericks, ranked fifth nationally in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) NCAA Women's Coaches Poll, dropped both legs of a Sunday afternoon tri-dual in the University of Iowa's Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The Mavs (3-2) fell 24-22 to Oklahoma State's club team and then fell 36-8 to top-ranked Iowa, which has never lost a dual in the 3-year history of the Hawkeye program.
The Mavs have six nationally-ranked individuals in the latest NWCA rankings, which were released last week.
The four that were in action on Sunday all won against Oklahoma State before Celina Preston (160 lbs.) was the Mavs' lone winner against Iowa, which had six nationally-ranked wrestlers in action against the Mavs, four of which are ranked first or second in the various weight classes.
That Mavs' list of nationally-ranked wrestlers includes Mia Zuniga (8^th, 103 lbs.), Adriana Gomez (9^th, 110 lbs.), Bella Morales (6^th, 117 lbs.), Lorianna Piestewa (2^nd, 124 lbs.), Donally (6^th, 145 lbs.) and Jayleen Sekona (4^th, 207 lbs.).
The Mavs will send a contingent to this Sunday's North Central College Invitational in Naperville, Illinois before that group will meet up with teammates at the Desert Duals in Las Vegas, Nevada next Wednesday (Dec. 17).

Men's Wrestling

The nation's 18^th-ranked Mavericks took on rival Western Colorado University in a non-conference dual on Thursday in Brownson Arena.
The Mountaineers prevailed with a 21-17 win in the dual that saw the lead change hands five times thanks to a pin at 285 pounds.
Freshman AJ Salguero, who made his dual debut, redshirt freshman and nationally-ranked redshirt senior Gabriel Carranza all delivered on-mat victories for the Mavs.
Redshirt freshman Adonias Cantu also won his tenth match of the season by forfeit at 125 pounds.
Sammy Mobly then led a group of five Maverick veteran reserves at Sunday's Bob Smith Open, hosted by Fort Hays State in Hays, Kan. He won the 157-pound bracket.
William Alvarado, third at 165 pounds, and Logan Noble, fourth at 184, also placed for the Mavs.
The Maverick starters will be in action this weekend at the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis.
The prestigious 2-day (Saturday/Sunday) tournament, is regarded as "mini-nationals" and will feature a large chunk of Division II schools from around the country.
The Mavs have three nationally-ranked wrestlers in Dayson Torgerson (4^th, 125 lbs.), Owen Cline (5^th, 157 lbs.), Gabriel Carranza (9^th, 197 lbs.), according to the latest NWCA rankings (Nov. 20).

Swimming & Diving

The Mavericks will resume their season next week (Dec. 15-17) at the UNLV Invitational in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Seven teams are expected to compete in the 3-day prelims/finals meet.
The list includes Division I squads Cal Baptist, Pacific, UNLV, Tulane, Wyoming as well as Division II Alaska Fairbanks.
Guillaume Guth (100 Free) and Luka Samsonov (400 IM) continue to lead the nation in their respective events on the men's side.
Ada Qunell (200 Free), Olivia Hansson (1000 Free) and the 800 Free Relay team all lead the country on the women's.
Eleven Maverick divers have already secured a trip to the NCAA Division II Championship Pre-Qualification Meet.
The Maverick women are ranked fifth while the Maverick men are ranked sixth in the November edition of the CSCAA Division II Top 25 Dual Meet Polls, which were released prior to the Mavs' dominant performances at the TYR/CMU Invitational.
Both CMU squads sit second in the current Swimcloud NCAA Division II Dual Meet rankings. The Maverick women are also second in the Swimcloud championship rankings while the Maverick men are ranked fourth.

Volleyball

The Mavs finished their season at 17-11 after dropping their NCAA Tournament opener to top-seeded MSU Denver in the opening round of the South Central Regional on Thursday in Denver.
The Mavs were making their fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
Senior outside hitter Sadie Scoville led the Mavs with 12 kills and finished the year with a team-high 342.
Scoville also led the team in service aces (31) and total points (400)
Senior libero Allison Waller finished the season with 347 digs and her career with 1,293, the sixth most in CMU history during the rally-scoring era (2001-Present).
Redshirt junior middle Aesha Alrashed finished the campaign with 108 blocks, the most of any Maverick since 2018 and the sixth most in the rally-scoring era.
Sophomore outside hitter Karsen Breeding was named to First Team RMAC All-Academic squad while leading a group of seven Mavericks on the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.

Women's Soccer

The awards continue to flow in for the Mavericks, who had six selections to the NCAA Division II College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team.
The Mavs selections were Olivia Barrett, Peyton Bundy, Sarah Dunn, Ally Wachtel, Kylie Wells and Keely Wieczorek.

Men's Soccer

The Maverick men also had six selections to the NCAA Division II College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team.
Nathan Beck, Connor Chilson, Jonah Elstad, George Jones, Daniel Paulsson and Manuel Ponce Casas were the Mavs' honorees.

Bootleg Ball

CMU will host a Bootleg Ball fundraising event from 6-10 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 12) in Brownson Arena.
It is a "Roaring 20's" themed event
