Women's Basketball
  • Maverick 14th Year Head Coach Taylor Wagner matched and then surpassed the CMU basketball record (men's & women's) for coaching victories while reaching the 300 milestone as the Mavericks won a pair of neutral-site games at the Westminster Classic in Salt Lake City over the Utah.
  • The wins were the 299th and 300th of his career and came over Texas A&M-Kingsville (68-39) and Alaska-Fairbanks (102-53) on Friday and Saturday.
  • Wagner surpassed Steve Kirkham's CMU women's coaching record as well as the Mavs' overall basketball coaching record of 299 wins, jointly held by Kirkham, Doug Schackel and Jim Heaps.
  • Maverick all-American Olivia Reed Thyne also set a CMU record for career rebounds in Friday's 29-point win over Javelinas.  She had 12 points and nine rebounds in that game, passing Tonya Stites' former record of 1,032.
  • Reed Thyne then had 17 points and seven rebounds in Saturday's win and now has 1,043 career rebounds.
  • Freshman Brooke Harding made her debut in Friday's win and finished with a game-high 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting, including a 3-for-5 effort from 3-point territory.
  • Mason Rowland and Hallie Clark tied for the game-high with 18 points in Saturday's win over the Alaska Nanooks as the Mavs eclipsed the 100-point mark for the first time since Jan. 14, 2017.
  • Rowland also had a double-double with ten rebounds while adding five assists and three steals.
  • Fourteen different Mavericks scored while 16 played in Saturday's blowout win.
  • The Mavericks retained their No. 21 spot in the WBCA's NCAA Division II Preseason Coaches' Poll and are now 5-1 this season.
  • They will be at home this week hosting Simon Fraser and Sul Ross State in the Maverick Thanksgiving Classic on Friday and Saturday respectively.  The Mavs will play at 5 p.m. each evening.
  • The Fort Lewis women are also in the tournament and will play at Noon each day against the same two opponents in opposite order.

Men's Basketball
  • The Mavericks dropped two tight games at the Skyhawks Hardwood Classic in Durango over the weekend, falling to 1-3 on the season.
  • They lost 77-75 to No. 25 Lubbock Christian in Friday's game despite a career-high 29 points from Mason Honeyman, who had 21 at halftime.
  • Ty Allred and Cohenj Gonzales both added 14 points while Allred recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds.
  • Allred then had another double-double with 23 points and a career-high 17 rebounds, the highest rebounding total for any Maverick since 2016 in Saturday's 78-70 loss to Western New Mexico.
  • Allred, Honeyman and Gonzales are all averaging 15.0 points per game to share the team scoring lead while Allred is also averaging 9.8 rebounds per game to rank second in the early season RMAC statistics.
  • Gonzales leads the RMAC in 3-point field goal percentage (.556).
Women's Soccer
  • The Mavericks saw their historic season come to an end with a 1-0 double overtime loss to Texas Woman's in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Dallas, Texas on Friday.
  • The Mavs were making their third consecutive and seventh overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
  • They finished the season with a 14-3-3 record and allowed just six goals throughout the entire season to match the RMAC record.
  • They and junior goalkeeper Keely Wieczorek, who did not play on Friday due to injury, registered a school-record 15 shutouts, including a RMAC record 12 consecutive during conference play as the Mavs became the first RMAC team in conference history to not allow a single goal in conference play en route to the title and a 9-0-2 league mark.
  • The Mavs set school records for goals against average (0.297) and save percentage (.906) while Wieczorek set marks for goals against average (0.263) and save percentage (.914).
  • Wieczorek also set RMAC records for consecutive shutouts (12) and shutout streak (1159 minutes, 27 seconds), the sixth longest streak in Division II history.
  • Ally Wachtel set a new CMU record on Friday, making her 80th career start.  She also played in her 81st game, a new CMU high for players in a 4-year career.
  • The Mavericks dominated possession in Friday's game and finished with an 18-10 advantage in total shots.  Kylie Wells took five while Parker Mairs had four.
  • The Maverick defense allowed just three shots on goal.
Swimming & Diving
  • The Mavericks fared quite well in the 15th annual TYR/CMU Invitational, held last Wednesday through Saturday in the El Pomar Natatorium.
  • The Mavericks set well more than 100 NCAA "B" cut times throughout the week and had 13 different divers surpass the NCAA qualifying standards on both boards.
  • The Mavs set 11 new school records during the meet.

  • CMU's men scored 1,744 team points, just ten shy of the meet record, to win the meet for the ninth straight and 14th time.  They won 18 of the 21 events.
  • CMU's women also won for the 11th straight time, besting NCAA Division I Northern Arizona as well as Mines.  The Mavs won 13 women's events.
  • The Maverick men also claimed a 16-3 diving dual win over Mines on Saturday.
  • Guillaume Guth set three individual school records and helped the Maverick men set new school marks in three different relays.
  • Ada Qunell broke two school records, taking down the Mavs' oldest former record in the 100 Fly that had stood since 2019.  She also set another meet and pool record in the 100 Free, a mark that had been on the record board since 2018.
  • Olivia Hansson also broke her own school record in the 1650 Free while winning all four of her individual events to top the meet with 80 individual points.
  • Aron Jonsson (200 Breast), Oskar Sawicki (50 Butterfly) also set new CMU records.
  • Kenya Meyer broke the meet record in both diving events and the pool record in the 3-meter while sweeping victory in the women's diving disciplines.
  • Jax Juarros won both of the men's diving events during the invitational before taking second behind teammate Ryan Campbell on the 3-meter during Saturday's dual meet win over Mines.
  • Guth (100 Free) and Luka Samsonov (400 IM) now lead the nation in their respective events on the men's side.
  • Qunell (100 Free, 200 Free), Hansson (500 Free, 1000 Free), Taylar Hooton (100 Back), Abby Uhl (200 Back) and the 800 Free Relay team all lead the country on the women's.
  • CMU will next compete at the UNLV Invitational (Dec. 15-17)
Women's Cross Country
  • The Mavericks recorded their best ever national championship finish in program history, taking 20th at Saturday's NCAA Division II National Championships in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
  • They finished matched their No. 20 ranking in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's NCAA Division II Coaches Poll.
  • Megan Hodges finished 37th individually to earn USTFCCCA All-America honors, which go to the top 40 finishers at the national meet.
  • She is just the third CMU Women's Cross Country All-American joining 2-time honoree Alexis Skarda (2008, 2010) and current teammate Kira MacGill (2022).
  • Megan (21:02.8) and twin-sister Lauren Hodges (22:24.6), who was CMU's fifth runner in 159th overall place, both set new 6K personal best times. 
Volleyball Women's Wrestling Men's Wrestling
  • The nation's 18th-ranked Mavericks were in tournament action on Saturday, competing in Nebraska-Kearney's Younes Hospitality Open.
  • Five Mavericks placed in the massive tournament.
  • Freshman Gunnar Neal led the way with a runner-up finish in the 174-pound amateur division bracket.
  • Fellow 174-pound freshman Levi DiCugno finished third in the elite division.
  • Tanner Stone, who was fourth in the 133-pound intermediate division, Patrick Preston (5th, 149 pound intermediate division) and Gabriel Carranza (6th, 197 pound elite division) also placed for the Mavs.
  • The Mavs will be off for Thanksgiving before returning to action on Thursday, Dec. 4 when the Mavs will host arch-rival Western Colorado in a non-conference dual.
