GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Six different players on the Colorado Mesa University Women's Soccer Team earned selections onto the College Sports Communicators NCAA Division II Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team, which was released by the organization last week.
Those six players include Keely Wieczorek, Kylie Wells, Ally Wachtel, Sarah Dunn, Peyton Bundy and Olivia Barrett.
In addition, the quartet of Dunn, Wachtel, Wells and Wieczorek were also selected to advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America® ballot, which will be announced on Dec. 17 following a vote of CSC (formerly known as CoSIDA/College Sports Information Directors of America) membership.
In order to be eligible for the Academic All-District® honors, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above both athletically and academically and have a 3.50 or higher GPA. They also must have played in 90 percent or started 2/3 of their team's games. Institutions are limited six nominations per gender.
Wachtel leads her team with this being her third-straight year to earn this selection and is joined by Wieczorek, Dunn and Wells as other two-time recipients.
Wieczorek is the only player to earn All-America honors as well with her being selected to that team in 2024.
Bundy and Barrett earn this award for the first time in their careers.
All six players selected for Colorado Mesa appeared in over 18 games this season while each making a large impact on one of the program's best statistical seasons to date.
