COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Colorado Mesa University sophomore
Karsen Breeding was named to the 2025 First Team Academic All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Volleyball Team while leading seven Mavericks on the Academic Honor Roll, conference officials announced on Tuesday.
The exercise science major and outside hitter from Bozeman, Montana holds a perfect 4.00 GPA.
She was selected to the 15-member team by a vote of the league's athletic communications directors based on a combination of athletic and academic accomplishments. To be nominated for the first team, student-athletes must have a 3.50 or higher cumulative GPA, have completed two consecutive semesters at their institution and used a season of competition.
The 15 selected team members were also on the 100-member honor roll, which requires student-athletes to have a 3.30 or higher GPA while also meeting the other requirements.
Breeding has caught on fire as of late and recorded a career-high 17 kills in a RMAC Tournament semifinal win over the Colorado School of Mines before leading the Mavs with nine more kills in the semifinal against MSU Denver while earning RMAC All-Tournament honors. She also had 15 kills in an Oct. 24 match against Mines and 14 in a Nov. 8 win over Regis, the Mavs' final home match, while recording eight or more kills in each of her last six matches helping lead the Mavs to a 5-1 record in that stretch.
The Mavs also played their way into a fifth straight NCAA Tournament bid.
