INDIANAPOLIS— The Colorado Mesa University Mavericks will have nine swimmers and both of their 400-yard freestyle relay teams in action in the final session of the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday night after a majority of those qualified for the championship and consolation finals through preliminary round action in the morning and early afternoon.
Four other Mavericks also earned guaranteed themselves of all-America honors throughout the early action in the 1,650 Free and men's 1-meter diving events.
The final session will begin at 5:30 p.m. EDT (3:30 p.m. Mountain) and will be streamed on the NCAA.com.

100 Free
Ada Qunell led a group of five Maverick women in the preliminary heats as she posted a time of 50.79 seconds to finish 24
th.
Kendyll Wilkinson finished 37
th in 51.29 seconds while
Reagan Horn placed 49
th in 51.72 seconds. Butterfly specialists Victoria Bartusiak (52.59) and
Kiara Borchardt (53.42) also competed , finishing 56
th and 57
th, respectively.
Taylar Hooton took a declared false start in order to compete in the 200 Back later in the session.
Kuba Kiszczak and
Richard Schmiedefeld also declared false starts on the men's side.
200 Back
The Maverick women claimed two of the top three spots in the championship final and another in the consolation final as
Agata Naskret posted the top preliminary round time of 1:56.63 after winning the 100-yard national title for the second straight year on Friday night. She will look to defend her 200 meter crown from a year ago and will have teammate
Katerina Matoskova next to her in Saturday's final.
Matoskova qualified third in 1:57.71 as the top three qualifiers all came from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Oklahoma Christian's Tammy Greenwood, seeded second coming into the meet, qualified second in 1:56.92 and will be on the other side of Naskret in the final.
Meanwhile, Maverick senior
Sophia Bains earned another NCAA Championship swim, placing 16
th in the preliminaries with a career-best time of 2:00.17. She was seeded 23
rd coming into the meet with her previous best of 2:00.65 and moved up two spots to sixth in CMU history with her Saturday morning time.
Hooton finished 32
nd in 2:04.79 while Wilkinson declared a false start after her earlier 100 Free swim.
The Mavericks also qualified three men for the evening session as
Andrew Scoggin posted a career-best time of 1:42.88 to win his preliminary heat while qualifying fourth overall.
Luka Samsonov also set a career-best time of 1:45.19 to finished 15
th in the preliminary round while freshman
Richard Schmiedefeld continued his strong week, grabbing the last lane in the consolation final with a 16
th place time of 1:45.49. He was seeded 16
th on the pre-meet psych sheets while Samsonov improved four spots over his No. 19 see to gain a spot in the consolation final. Scoggin was seeded sixth.
200 Breast
Marcos Otero claimed a spot in the consolation final after qualifying 14
th in 1:58.62.
Mauricio Posadas finished 19
th in 2:00.72 while
Max Ayres took 22
nd in 2:01.47.
Brodie Khajuria finished 24
th in 2:09.03 while
Forrest Frazier took a declared false start.
Antonia Leese finished 27
th in 2:19.30 while
Maddi Moran placed 33
rd in 2:28.48 as the Mavs' two women's representatives in the event.
1650 Free
Olivia Hansson and
Jacob Troescher will swim at the beginning of the finals session after each were amongst the top eight seeded swimmers.
Hansson will be the No. 5 seed with her season-best of 16:38.56 while Troescher will wrap up his Maverick career with hopes of a third all-America honors of the week as the sixth seed in the men's section with seed time of 15:16.97.
Two other Maverick women are also guaranteed of scoring positions and all-America honors after competing in the preliminary session sections.
Sydnee O'Neil is in sixth place through three of the four heats with her time of 17:02.58 and will be guaranteed of now worse than 14
th place after the results of Hansson's heat are merged in. She was seeded 15
th coming into the meet and will garner a second all-America certificate of the week after placing 15
th in the 200 Butterfly on Friday night.
Hanna Sasivarevic is in eight place and will finish no lower than 16
th after posting a time of 17:06.82. She has claimed her first career all-America honor after falling short of a top-16 finish earlier in three earlier events this week.
On the men's side, fifth-year senior
Gavin Anderson wrapped up his career with a time of 15:49.25. He is in 17th place with the top eight seeds still to swim this evening.
Freshman
Braden Felio wrapped up his initial NCAA Championship with a time of 15:55.27 and is in 19
th place, two behind Anderson.
Men's 1m Diving
Ryan Campbell and
David Roethlisberger both earned Second Team CSCAA All-America honors after qualifying for the consolation final.
Both Mavericks finish the week with their first two all-America honors at the NCAA Division II level.
Campbell had narrowly missed out on a spot in the championship final, finishing ninth in the preliminary round with a score of 448.85 points to miss the championship final by less than five points. Roethlisberger snagged the final spot after placing 16
th in the consolation final with 414.95 points.
In the consolation final, Campbell improved his score to 463.75 points and finished 12
th. Roethlisberger finished with 398.05 points to take 16
th. He had finished 14
th on the 3-meter on Thursday.
Campbell had finished 11
th on the 3-meter board.
400 Medley Relay
The Maverick women will try to defend their national title as the second seeded team at 3:21.01. They will swim in Lane 5, next to top-seeded Nova Southeastern, which won the overall team title in 2024. The Sharks and Drury, which leads the 2025 team standings, are separated by just five points heading into the final session of this year's meet.
Drury will also swim in the same Heat as the fifth seeds at 3:21.81 while CMU sits just 12 points ahead of Indianapolis in the battle for third place in the final team standings entering Saturday night. The Greyhounds will be in Heat 6 as the No. 4 seeds (3:21.81).
The Maverick men will swim in the middle of the pool in the middle of three sections. They are seeded ninth overall at 2:55.98 and will be the favorites to win the heat before the top eight seeded teams will swim in the final section.
