2024-25 (As a Junior): Swam in nine collegiate meets, including the RMAC and NCAA Division II National Championships… Placed 19
th in the 200 Breast (2:00.72), 27
th in the 100 Breast (54.89) and 35
th in the 200 IM (1:49.56) in his first apperance at the national meet… The 100 Breast time was a season-best that put him seventh on the RMAC’s season-long performance list… Set NCAA qualifying times in each event as an exhibition swimmer at the RMAC Championships… Posted personal-bests of 1:48.14 (200 IM) and 1:58.13 (200 Breast)… Ranks third in CMU history with that 200 Breast time and ranks sixth in the 200 IM… Was ranked third on the RMAC season-long performance list in the 200 Breast and fifth in the 200 IM… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll… Helped the Mavs win the RMAC Brechler Award.
International: Was a 3-event finalist at the 2024 Mexican National Short Course Championships (Campeonato National Mexicano – 25m) while representing Desert Dragons of Chihuahua, Mexico in December, 2024 over CMU’s holiday break… Placed third in the 200-meter individual medley, fifth in the 50 Breast and sixth in the 100 Breast… Set personal-best LCM times of 28.53, 1:02.31 and 2:02.54 in those disciplines.
2023-24 (As a Sophomore): Swam in nine meets… Scored in all four of his individual and six total events at the RMAC Championships, reaching the championship final in three… Earned Second Team All-RMAC honors thanks to a third place finish in the 100 Breast… Also took fifth in the 200 Breast and sixth in the 200 IM… Set a then personal best altitude-adjusted and NCAA Championship provisional qualifying time of 2:00.79 in the 200 Breast final before lowering it 2:00.35 a week later at the CMU Last Chance Meet… Also set a NCAA “B” cut and personal-best time of 1:48.55 (converted) in the 200 IM final at the RMAC Championships… Finished tenth in the 100 Fly with a season-best mark of 50.34 seconds (converted) and swam the breaststroke leg on CMU’s “B” heat winning 200 and 400 Medley relay teams… Accounted for 50 team points in his four individual events and 59 in total when including his share of the relay points… Won the 100 Breast at the TYR/CMU Invitational, turning in a personal-best and NCAA “B” Cut time of 54.87 seconds (converted)… Ranks eighth in school history with that time… Ended the year ranked amongst the RMAC’s top 10 on the season-long performance lists in three championship events, standing fourth in the 100 Breast, seventh in the 200 Breast and eighth in the 200 IM… Had also finished third in the 50-meter breaststroke and fourth in the 100 Breast at the Mexican National Short Course Championships in December, 2023… Named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.
Summer 2023: Finished fourth in the 100 breast at the Pacific Northwest Senior Championships in Federal Way, Washington with a new LCM personal-best of 1:05.32… Also had other personal best times of 53.53 (100 Free) and 58.73 (100 fly).
2022-23 (Freshman): Competed in four meets during the fall semester, including the TYR CMU Invitational, where he turned in altitude-adjusted personal bests of 1:49.49 (200 IM), 55.80 (100 Breast), 50.34 (100 Fly) and a season-best of 2:02.78 (200 Breast)… The 200 IM time was a NCAA Championship provisional qualifying or “B” Cut effort, that combined with his academic success, allowed him to garner Second Team CSCAA Scholar All-America plaudits.
Prep: 2022 graduate of Vista Ridge High School in the Austin, Texas area… Coached by Caitlyn Goodfellow and the Rangers… Was a 200 medley relay and 200 free relay all-American… Helped the medley relay team place fourth at the UIL 6A State Championships… Finished fifth in the 200 free relay and took third in the 100 breast, individually…. Had finished fourth in that event as a junior in 2021 after winning the 6A Region 3 title… Was a 2-event finalist as the 6A Region 1 Championships as a freshman in 2019 while at Coronado High School in El Paso.
Club: Was a member of the runner-up 400 medley relay team at the Winter Junior Nationals for Nitro Swimming… Was a 100 and 200 breaststroke Winter Junior Nationals Qualifier and a 100 breast Summer Junior Nationals Qualifier.
Personal: Is majoring in computer science… Aspires to become a data scientist/analyst and to be able to give back to his community… Son of Hector Gabriel and Maria Teresa Posadas… Has two siblings— Hector Armando and Ximena… Enjoys hanging out with friends, canoeing, hiking, backpacking and watching One Piece.
