2024-25 (As a Freshman): Swam in ten meets, qualifying for the NCAA Division II National Championships in four events… Won the 500 Free at the TYR CMU Invitational with a personal-best altitude-adjusted time of 4:23.60, the performance that ultimately allowed for his trip to the NCAA meet in Indianapolis… Also set other NCAA “B” cut and personal best times of 9:19.19 (1000 Free) and 15:35.65 (1650 Free) at the TYR meet… Wen to add another NCAA “B” time of 1:38.94 in the 200 Free as the lead-off leg on CMU’s “B” 800 Free Relay squad at the RMAC Championships… Scored in six total events at the conference meet, placing sixth in the 1000 Free, eighth in the 500 Free and tenth in the 1650 Free… Also was on three “B” relay teams, helping the Mavs win heats in the 200 Medley and 200 Free… Ranks third in CMU history for the 500 Free… Is sixth in the 1650 Free and eighth in the 1000 Free… Was ranked second on the RMAC’s season-long list in the 500 Free… Also ranked fourth in the 1650 and tenth in the 1000…. Placed 27
th in the 1650 Free (15:55.27) at the national championships… Was 33
rd in the 1000 Free (9:36.81), 36
th in the 200 Free (1:39.28) and 38
th in the 500 Free (4:35.23)… Was named as a First Team CSCAA Scholar All-American.
Prep: 2024 graduate of Granite Hills High School… Was a 4-time Grossmont Hills League Champion in the 200 Free for the Rhett Gaeir coached Eagles… Earned first team all-league honors in all four years of his prep career… Set multiple league records and was a 2-time swimmer of the year… Was also a CIF State Championship qualifier for the Granite Hills High School Eagles… Took 33
rd in the 200 Free and 36
th in the 100 Fly… Took second and fourth in those respective events at the CIF San Diego Section Division 1 Championships… Also qualified for the CIF state meet in 2023, placing 24
th in the 500 Free… Took third in both the 200 and 500 Frees at the sectional meet.
Club: Was a 3-event champion at the San Diego-Imperial Age Group Championships while representing Manta Ray Aquatics… Won the 200, 800 and 1500-meter Freestyle events… Also took second in the 400 Free and third in both the 100 Free and 100 Fly… Set personal-best LCM times of 54.18 and 58.41 in the latter two.
Personal: Is majoring in mechanical engineering… Aspires to build things that he loves with his Dad… Son of Alicia and Matt Felio… Has one younger sibling— Austin… Enjoys working on his truck, fabricating, welding, mountain biking, jet skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, Jeeping, off-roading and ATV’s.
