GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University swimming and diving teams recorded one of the best days in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference history, claiming eight event wins while setting four new championship records on Friday, the penultimate day of competition at the 2025 RMAC Championships here inside the El Pomar Natatorium.
The history-making story lines were plentiful, both in the swimming pool and the diving well as the nation's top-ranked Maverick women claimed five wins and all four of the newest RMAC Championship records.
Agata Naskret, who set two individual and a relay record during the night, and
Kenya Meyer also broke their own school records for the CMU women.

The Mavs, gunning for a RMAC-record extending seventh straight team title, are now 612 ahead of Simon Fraser, who is clinging to an 8 ½-point edge on the Colorado School of Mines in what should be a quite a battle for second place throughout the final day of the meet on Saturday.
The CMU men also extended their lead to 194 points over Mines, getting wins in three of Thursday's five events and are also now just one day away from a likely seventh straight team title.
Beyond the records, the depth and tradition of the Maverick program was on full display throughout the night.
Naskret, a 5-event NCAA Division II National Champion, and the 2023-24 RMAC Swimmer of the Year, provided the first highlight, taking the 100 back in 52.27 seconds, just under her 1-day old RMAC Championship record of 52.28 that she used to propel CMU to a 400-yard medley relay conference championship record on Thursday.
The Mavs had four of the top six finishers and five in the finals of that event as freshman
Taylar Hooton placed second in 54.51 seconds while
Katerina Matoskova finished fourth in 55.56 ahead of
Anna Beck (56.58) and
Kendyll Wilkinson (57.17), who took sixth and eighth, respectively.
Minutes later, Scoggin claimed the men's event in 47.27 seconds, claiming his seventh of now eight overall RMAC titles, which until Friday and all been set in relays. However, this was the senior's first individual title.

Urbanek has now swept both the 100 and 200 fly events in all four years of his illustrious Maverick career, winning eight individual conference crowns and eight on the Mavs' talented relay squads.
The Mav women then went 1-2-3 in the women's 3-meter diving competition as Meyer zoomed past the former RMAC Championship, pool and her own school records in both the afternoon preliminary round and the evening finals.
In the finals, she scored 541.70 points, to best her preliminary round score of 522.70 points. Teammates

The Bozeman, Montana native now has four gold and two silver medals in six RMAC Championship events throughout her career.
Following the strong diving display, action returned to the relays as the Mavericks continued their nearly 2-year old RMAC Championship relay unbeaten streak, taking both the "A" and the "B" heats in both the men's and women's 200 free.
The women's "A" quartet of Naskret,
Elli Williams, Bartusiak and
Ada Qunell set a new RMAC Championship record time of 1:31.64, besting last year's winning time of 1:13.83. Naskret also broke her own school and pool records with her 50 free lead-off split of 22.72, which was a single one hundredth of a second under the former RMAC Championship record of 22.73, set by Oklahoma Baptist's Victoria Fonville in 2019.

Hanna Sasivarevic had won an earlier heat in 1:35.13.
