  • The Mavs' individual champions were Jennesis Martinez (103), Lorianna Piestewa (124), Erica Smith (145) and Gretchen Donally (160).
  • Donally defeated Simon Fraser's Lene McCrackin, ranked seventh in the country, 4-2 in the final, handing McCrackin her first loss of the season.
  • Martinez is still undefeated at 9-0 this season.
  • Piestewa and Donally are two of the seven freshman that qualified for the NCWWC National Championships, which will be on Mar. 7-8 in Coralville, Iowa.
  • The Mavericks qualified ten wrestlers overall with Madison Heinzer (4th, 103), Sophia Cornish (2nd, 110), Jojo McDaniel (3rd, 117), Brooke McCurley (2nd, 124), Alison Evans (2nd, 180) and Isabeau Shalack (3rd, 207) joining the regional champions.
  • McDaniel was named as the RMAC Co-Freshman of the Year alongside McCracken in a vote of RMAC head coaches.  Those awards were announced last week in conjunction with the All-RMAC Teams, which were based on results of the RMAC Championships.
  • CMU had nine total All-RMAC wrestlers with five first team honorees and four second team picks.
Women's Basketball

  • They were ranked 24th in last week's D2CIDA Media Poll and were receiving votes in the WBCA Division II Coaches' Poll.

  • The 14-game winning streak matches a 2018-19 winning streak.
  • The program record is 25 straight wins during the 2013-14 season, when CMU went 30-2 and advanced to the regional championship game.

  • Those wins secured a spot in the upcoming RMAC Tournament.
  • The Mavs (17-9) are currently tied for fourth place in the RMAC standings with a 11-7 record and would clinch a first round home game with wins in their remaining two regular season home games.
  • They were in seventh place entering last week.
  • Their 4-game winning streak is equal to their longest of the season.
  • Yaak Yaak recorded his third straight and fourth double-double in the last five, tallying 16 points and 12 rebounds in the 69-51 win over South Dakota Mines.
