COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Colorado Mesa University's
Autumn McQuitty and
Brooke Miller were both named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's First Team All-Academic Team and lead a conference-leading group of 28 Maverick outdoor women's track & field athletes named to the RMAC Academic Honor Roll.

The awards were announced by the conference office on Thursday.

The Maverick men also had three first team and 25  total selections to the honor roll.

CMU's 53 total selections were also the most of any of the 15 RMAC institutions.

The first teams are selected by a vote of athletics communications directors from the conference membership based on a combination of athletic and academic accomplishments.  To be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must have a 3.5 or higher GPA entering the season and be at their nominating institution for two consecutive semesters prior to the start of the season.

McQuitty, a sophomore mass communications major from Alamosa, Colorado, holds a perfect 4.00 GPA.  She also earned first team all-academic team honors during the 2024 cross country and 2025 indoor track & field seasons.

She placed eighth in the 10,000 meters at the RMAC Championships and ran to career-best times of 37:47.54 (10K), 17:46.89 (5K) and 4:41.62 (1500) throughout the season.  She ranks fourth in program history with that 10K time and is sixth in the Maverick history in the other two events.

Miller, a nursing major from Homer, Alaska, holds a 3.96 GPA.  She made CMU history by claiming the silver medal and First Team All-RMAC honors with a second place finish in the 800 meters at the RMAC Championships to become the Mavs' first ever conference championship medalist in that discipline.  She also set a season-best and NCAA provisional qualifying time of 2:10.83 (altitude adjusted) earlier in the season.

Miller is the Mavs' record holder in both the indoor (2:09.79) and outdoor (2:12.30) 800-meter events and also set a career-best time of 4:35.35 in the 1,500 meters this spring to rank fifth in Maverick history for that discipline.

This honor is one of many academic awards for Miller, who was also a First Team RMAC All-Academic team pick during the 2024 cross country season.  She also earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors in 2024.
