Women's Basketball

The Mavs, ranked 11^th nationally in the latest WBCA NCAA Division II Coaches Poll, will begin the 2026 portion of the season when they host Regis on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Mavericks, 13-1 overall and 3-0 in RMAC play will enter the game as winners of ten straight.
A win would move the Mavs into a first place tie in the RMAC standings with Adams State at 4-0. The Mavs will play at Adams State next week (Jan. 10).
Regis is 0-6 overall and 0-3 in conference play this year.
Olivia Reed Thyne won her fourth defensive and fifth overall RMAC Player of the Week honor of the season last Monday.
She leads the RMAC and ranks amongst the nation's top eight players in points (260), rebounds (148) and double-doubles (7) this season.
The Mavs are ranked second in the national statistics for field goal percentage defense (31.7), seventh for scoring margin (+22.9) and eighth for assists per game (17.8).
The Mavs finished the 2025 calendar year with a combined 31-3 record, recording 18 and 10-game winning streaks in the two seasons.

Men's Basketball

The Mavs will begin 2026 on Saturday hosting Regis at 3 p.m. in Brownson Arena.
CMU is currently 6-5 overall and 2-1 in RMAC play.
Regis is 1-8 overall and 0-3 in the RMAC.
Ty Allred swept both the RMAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors last Monday.
He is leading the Mavs in both scoring (17.5 ppg) and rebounding (9.4 rpg).
He leads the RMAC in rebounding and is ranked fourth in scoring.
The Mavs went a combined 19-9 during the 2025 calendar year.

Women's Wrestling

Mia Zuniga was named as the RMAC Wrestler of the Week last Monday.
She went 4-0 at the Desert Duals on Dec. 17.
The Mavericks are currently ranked seventh in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) NCAA Women's Coaches Poll, released the day after the Desert Duals.
They have 23 points in the Tournament Poll Index and have five nationally-ranked wrestlers in Zuniga (3^rd, 103 lbs.), Sophia Cornish (10^th, 117), Lorianna Piestewa (7^th, 124), Gretchen Donally (10^th, 145) and Jayleen Sekona (5^th, 207).
The Mavs will resume their season on Jan. 9-10 at the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa while also sending a contingent of backups to the Chadron State Open on Jan. 10.

Men's Wrestling

The Mavs continue to sit 18^th in the National Wrestling Coaches Association's NCAA Division II Coaches Rankings.
They have three ranked individuals in Alex Castaneda, sixth at 149 pounds, Owen Cline (7^th, 157) and Gabriel Carranza (7^th, 197).
CMU will resume the season next Friday (Jan. 9) at the Western Colorado Open before competing in the Tracy Borah Duals on the following day (Jan. 10) in Gunnison.

Swimming & Diving

Both CMU squads moved up two spots in the December edition of the CSCAA Top 25 Dual Meet polls. The Maverick women are now ranked third while the men are fourth.
CMU will next compete on Jan. 17 against Denver and Wyoming in Denver.
