Women's Basketball All-Decade Team

Before we get to the players, It is only appropriate the head coach behind the majority of this All-Decade Team get some recognition. When Taylor Wagner came to Colorado Mesa in 2012, he inherited a program that needed just the right push to get over the edge of success. The women's basketball team hadn't seen back-to-back winning seasons since 2003 and the players were eager to merit some sort of championship...The rest of the 2010's were history.

Wagner's takeover of the team marked a new era for CMU that has since consisted of five NCAA Tournament appearances, five RMAC regular season titles, four RMAC Tournament titles, and six all-Americans. All six of those all-Americans happened to make their mark as the best players of the 2010's.

Kelsey Sigl was the first of many successful careers to come out of the CMU women's basketball program. After transferring from Bismarck State College where she was a NJCAA 2nd Team all-American and Mon-Dak Conference Player of the Year, she would become the first WBCA all-American under Taylor Wagner as well as the RMAC Player of the Year for 2012.

In her senior season, Sigl was the leading scorer behind the historic Elite Eight run CMU had in the NCAA Tournament. Sigl averaged 18.5 ppg and scored 610 total points on the season, which was a program record at the time for most points in a single season.

In all three years at CMU, Sigl led CMU in scoring and points per game.

The Bismarck native ended her career with 1,442 points, three different all-American recognitions, RMAC Player of the Year, All-RMAC First Team, Capital One Academic All-District 1st Team, and RMAC Preseason Player of the Year.

The Selsor sisters, arguably, hold the title of most dominant sibling duo in RMAC history. Both Sharaya and Katrina played together for three years at CMU from 2010-13.

Sharaya Selsor made it to CMU (what was then Mesa State) first after graduating from Glenwood Springs High School in 2008. In her first season in 2010, Sharaya came in and was the team's second leading scorer behind Kelsey Sigl with 12.4 points per game. She averaged the same amount in 2012 after missing the 2011 season. Her senior year in 2013 saw the best scoring season in school history as she averaged a program-high 23.4 points per game off her 750 points.

That year Selsor was named a WBCA National Player of the Year Finalist, a WBCA all-American, as well as the RMAC Player of the Year. Seven times in 2013, Selsor scored 30 or more points, her highest being a 40-point performance against Chadron State.

Sharaya finished her career with 1,494 points along with her other accolades that consist of Daktronics All-Region First Team, RMAC All-Tournament Team, and All-RMAC First Team in addition to the other awards mentioned prior.

The younger Selsor sister had no problem keeping up with her older sister. Katrina Selsor played three seasons at CMU after transferring from CSU-Pueblo. She was also a part of the 2012 squad that went to the NCAA Elite Eight and was ranked second nationally during the regular season, the highest poll placing for any team in program history.

Katrina earned DII Women's Bulletin All-America Honorable Mention and WBCA All-America Honorable Mention honors in her senior year where she averaged 14.4 ppg and also led the team with 8.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.

Selsor made All-RMAC in all three years as a Maverick with her last one being All-RMAC First Team in 2012. She also won RMAC Player of the Month for December where she scored 14 or more points in every game.

The best season for any underclassman unanimously belongs to Erin Reichle. The Utah native went from starting zero games her freshman year in 2013, to playing and starting in all 29 games in 2014. Reichle also made the jump from averaging 3.4 points and 0.8 assists per game as a freshman to 17.4 points and 3.7 assists per game as a sophomore.

Reichle went on to earn WBCA and DII Bulletin Honorable Mention All-America and All-RMAC First Team selections the same year the Mavericks won the RMAC Regular Season Championship for the third-consecutive year.

Her junior year was sidelined due to a season-ending injury during the preseason. Reichle was named the RMAC Preseason Player of the Year along with earning a Hero Sports Preseason Third Team All-American selection.

Reichle made the comeback in 2016 earning All-RMAC Second Team averaging 13.2 ppg and then capped off her career in 2017 leading the team in all but one scoring category which was enough to give her a second All-RMAC First Team selection.

Jaylyn Duran is a bucket. When someone is the best three-point shooter in program history with 265 shots made from beyond the arc while simultaneously holding the record for most threes made in a single season, it is okay to assume they score buckets for a living. That is exactly what Duran does.

The Pueblo native currently plays professional ball in Spain for the El Gadasa Skoka Carmelitas and has been with them since May of this year. Duran spent four years at CMU from 2015-18, improving each year she played to ultimately be named the RMAC Player of the Year and awarded all-American honors in 2018.

Duran was the leading scorer for the Mavericks in 2018 with 18.6 ppg and 34.6 percent success rate from three-point range. She scored a total of 578 points en route to CMU's RMAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships. The Mavericks lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament which was their first home loss of the year. Before that game, Duran led them to 20-straight home wins dating back to the 2017-18 season.

Finally the scoring baton has been passed down to Daniella Turner. The only active member of the All-Decade list playing for CMU, as well as the only active and latest all-American.

Turner had a stellar season in 2019 when the Mavericks made their second-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, led the team in scoring averaging 15.8 points and did this all by coming off the bench. Throughout her entire career thus far, Turner has started only one game out of 64 she's played in, but has still scored 573 career points (490 of those are from 2019 alone).

Her junior campaign was awarded with a WBCA All-America Honorable Mention, D2CCA All-South Central Region Second Team, and All-RMAC First Team, and RMAC All-Tournament Team. Turner had 11 different occasions where she scored 20 or more points with her career high coming against Colorado School of Mines on Dec. 7 where she dished out 29 points.
