COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Colorado Mesa University's
Leo Lavalle has added another award to his resume as he has been voted on to the 2025-26 First Team Academic All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Team while leading five Mavericks on the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll, the conference announced on Wednesday.
The 8-man first team unit, which had representation from all seven RMAC men's golf programs was selected by a vote of the conference's athletics communications directors, who were not allowed to vote for their own student-athletes. To be eligible for nomination, student-athletes must have a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average, be in at least their second consecutive year at their nominating institution and have used a season of eligibility.
Honor roll recognition requires a 3.30 or higher GPA as well as meeting the other criteria.
The Mavs' other four honorable roll selections include
Inigo Badial,
Baptiste Laborde,
Zack Moreau and
Luke Wagstaff. Laborde was also recognized in 2024-25.
Lavalle, who hails from Queretaro, Mexico, has a 3.60 GPA and is majoring in marketing.
Earlier this month, he was named to the PING NCAA Division II All-South Central Team and received First Team All-RMAC honors. He posted a 71.28 scoring average, second best in program history, and recorded four top five finishes throughout the season, including a tie for second at the RMAC Championships.
As a team, the Mavericks won their first RMAC title in program history and advanced to their seventh straight NCAA regional, finishing ninth.
