COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University Mavericks have been picked to repeat as Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Champions, according to the conference's 2026-27 Preseason Men's Golf Coaches' Poll, released on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Maverick senior Dylan Everett was also named to the Preseason All-RMAC Team.
 
The Mavs, who won their first conference team title in 2025-26, received five first place votes from the seven coaches around the league, who were asked to rank their opposition one through six without voting for their own squad.  The Mavs finished with 34 points, picking up six for each first place vote.  Five points were awarded for the second place votes.  The Mavs also picked up a third place vote, which was worth four points.
 
CSU Pueblo and Colorado Christian also picked up single first place votes.  CSU Pueblo took second in the poll with 28 points while Colorado Christian was tied for third alongside the Colorado School of Mines with 26.
 
Westminster (15), Fort Lewis (11) and South Dakota Mines (7) rounded out the poll.
 
In conjunction with the poll, the 8-man Preseason All-RMAC team was released and made up of the top returning players from last year's all-conference award selection process.
 
Everett is one of three returning First Team All-RMAC honorees and is coming off a 2025-26 junior season that saw him post a 72.39 scoring average, the second best on the Mavs' conference title-winning team and the seventh best in program history.  He had four top 10 finishes last year and was ranked 16^th regionally and inside the top 100 nationally.
 
The Highlands Ranch, Colorado native, also won the amateur title at the prestigious Rocky Mountain Open over the weekend.
 
He and the Mavs will begin the collegiate season on Sept. 14-15 at the Travis Roy Memorial Invitational in Sheridan, Wyoming and will then co-host the San Juan Intercollegiate presented by Timberline Bank on Sept. 21-22 in Montrose, Colorado.
