GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University women's triathlon team will take on rival Black Hills State University in the Maverick Aquathlon on Saturday morning at Highline Lake State Park near Loma.
The spring event will begin at 10 a.m. and will consist of a 400-yard open water swim with a transition to a 1-mile run along the park's levee.

The Mavericks and Yellow Jackets are both expected to race five athletes.

CMU's line-up includes Sylvie Aardema Gagnon, Macy Arch, Emma Meyers, Kaia Merrill and Shantelle Tupaz, Head Coach Jen Mathe has announced.

The Mavericks are coming off victory and a sweep of the top five places in the Virtual Super Sprint Invitational earlier this spring.
