2024 (Freshman): Made NCAA history as the first para-athlete to compete in an NCAA Triathlon race, when she placed 62nd at the Battle in the Fort, hosted by TCU in Fort Worth, Texas… Went on to finish 84th at the West National Qualifier in her second collegiate race… Missed the first two races of the collegiate season while on International duty at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.

Paralympics/International: Represented Team USA at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, finishing ninth in the PTS4 category, becoming the first Maverick student-athlete in any sport to ever compete in the Paralympics... Ranked seventh in the World Triathlon Paratriathlon Rankings as of Nov. 15, 2024... Placed sixth in the World Triathlon Para Series events in both Montreal, Canada and Yokohama, Japan in the lead-up to the games… Has recorded three wins and ten podiums in 17 World Triathlon starts throughout her career… Had four top-3 finishes in the 2023 World Triathlon Para Series… Won the Swansea, Wales event… Went on to finish fifth in the World Triathlon Para Cup in Paris, a test event for the Paralympics… Also placed fifth at the 2023 World Triathlon Para Championships… Won the 2022 USA Paratriathlon National Championships… Was coached by Aaron Scheidies for triathlon and by Robin Heller in club swimming.

Prep: 2024 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School… Was a member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Student Government Association and Beta.

Personal: Is majoring in social work… Aspires to work with non-profit organizations to advocate for people with disabilities by promoting healthy lifestyles and mental health… Daughter of Leah Finneseth-Meyers and Jacob Meyers… Was adopted from China after being born with fibular hemimelia, a congenital limb deficiency that limits the growth of the calf bone… Her leg was amputated below the knee when she was a toddler… Has a sister named Abby… Enjoys exploring the outdoors, traveling, hanging out with friends and family and journaling.

Why I Chose CMU: “I chose CMU for multiple reasons. When I was making my decision between schools, I had several questions and every employee that I spoke with was very responsive and proactive (advisors, professors, coaches), I am impressed with the triathlon coach and team, and the campus and the area are beautiful.”
