Mavs set four NCAA marks, two school records

PUEBLO, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University track and field teams combined for four NCAA Division II Championship provisional qualifying marks and a pair of school records during a solid overall day of marks at the Chuck Haering Classic on Saturday here at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl.

Kaiya Graves, who won the discus throw, and the women's 4x400-meter relay team of Hannah Schissler, Elaina Arcand, Waycee Harvey and Kammi Merritt, set the new school records as the Mavericks also racked up nine second place finishes and two third place marks.

Graves, who broke her own javelin throw school record just nine days ago, recorded her discus throw effort of 47.30 meters (155 feet, 2 inches) to better Heather Yackey's record of 46.77 meters (153-5) from the 2024 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships.  Graves' mark was also one of the Mavs' NCAA provisional qualifying efforts.
