Women's Basketball
  • Ranked 11th in the latest WBCA national poll, the Maverick women's basketball team extended its winning streak to 11 with a 72-44 win over Regis in Brownson Arena on Saturday.
  • The Mavs are now 14-1 overall and tied for the RMAC lead at 4-0 with Adams State, who they will play on Saturday.
  • The Mavs led by as many as 34 points as Olivia Reed Thyne scored 21 while grabbing nine rebounds.
  • Mason Rowland had 16 points and a double-double with ten boards.
  • Mykaela Moore finished with 12 points and finished with a career-high six steals, tied for fifth most in school history.
  • Reed Thyne also matched a season and career-high with four steals.
  • The Mavs matches a season-high with 17 steals as a team, equaling the fourth highest single-game mark in program history.
  • The Mavs finished with a 44-31 rebounding advantage and forced 25 Ranger turnovers while holding the visitors to 37.5 percent (18-48) shooting.
  • The Mavs shot just 39.4 percent (28-71) and were just 7-for-32 (21.9 percent) from 3-point territory but grabbed 21 offensive rebounds while limiting their turnovers to just 11 to generate many more opportunities.
  • The Mavs are now 4-0 at home and have won all four home contests by 28 or more points.
  • CMU will be on the road later this week playing at New Mexico Highlands on Thursday at 5 p.m. and Adams State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
  • NMHU Is 5-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play.  Adams State is 10-4 overall.
Men's Basketball
  • The Mavericks improved to 7-5 overall and to 3-1 in RMAC play with a 90-62 blowout win over visiting Regis on Saturday.
  • The Mavericks hit 16 3-pointers in the win, the most in the two years of the program under Head Coach Mike Dunlap.
  • The Mavs' 90 points and 28-point margin of victory were new season-highs.
  • The Mavs are now 4-0 this season at home.
  • Ty Allred was 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and scored a game-high 26 points.  He also had nine rebounds to lead the Mavs to a 43-19 (+24) advantage in that category.
  • Clayton Jewell (18), Ben Henderson (13) and Kap Laila (10) also finished in double figures.
  • Henderson also finished with a season-high nine assists, the most of any Maverick this season, and added six rebounds.
  • Jewell had eight rebounds.
  • Laila's 10 points were a season-high.  He also had a season-high three steals as the Mavs matched a season-high with nine as a team.
  • The Mavs finished with 23 assists and shot 53.1 percent (34-64) from the field.
  • They also shot 47.1 percent (16-34) from 3-point territory.
  • The Mavs will be on the road next week playing at New Mexico Highlands on Thursday (7 p.m.) and Adams State on Saturday (3 p.m.).
  • New Mexico Highlands is 4-11 overall and 2-2 in the RMAC.  Adams State is 7-5 overall and 1-3 in the RMAC.
