GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University volleyball team hit .417 and held visiting Western Colorado University to a .023 clip as the Mavericks posted their 24
th consecutive win over the Mountaineers since 2012 while improving to 8-4 overall with a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Regional Pod victory on Tuesday night here in Brownson Arena.
The Mountaineers fell to 1-12 overall with Tuesday's loss.
The Mavs had a balanced attack as outside hitter
Sadie Scoville recorded a match-high 13 kills to lead three Mavs in double figures. Scoville hit at a .526 clip on 19 swings and also had 11 digs to register her second straight and fifth total double-double of the campaign.
Freshman opposite hitter
Henley Madsen also chipped in 12 kills and hit an identical .526 while redshirt sophomore outside
Emma Luce chipped in ten kills, five digs and two of the Mavs' seven service aces.

Addison Wright made the start at libero and recorded 11 digs while freshman setter
Ashlyn Tafoya recorded 21 assists and seven digs.
Macy Wood was also in on four of the Mavs' six blocks while Scoville recorded three block assists.
The Mavericks more than doubled-up the Mountaineers in total kills, 45-20, and also had a big 43-24 digging advantage. CMU also committed just ten attacking errors while the Mountaineers were guilty of 18.
The Mavs hit .222 in the first set and got off to a mild start, falling behind 6-3. However, a service ace by
Addie Swanson, who had 14 assists, four digs and two aces, triggered a 7-1 Maverick run that gave the Mavs a 10-7 lead.
The Mountaineers would pull within one at 10-9 and again at 11-10 but could not get over the hump as a kill from
Coco Barnett followed by two more from Luce helped the Mavs take a 14-10 lead that they would never relinquish.
The Mavs then played nearly flawless volleyball in the second set, recorded 16 kills and hitting .762 while registering three blocks in the middle frame.
The Mavs then hit .407 in the third set as the Mountaineers never led in either the second or third.
CMU, which came into the night ranked 25
th in the
latest AVCA/TARAFLEX NCAA Division II Coaches Poll that was released on Monday afternoon, will close out a 4-match, 8-day homestand on Friday at 6 p.m. when the Mavs will take on Westminster University in another regional pod encounter. The Griffins are also 8-4 on the season.
