AMARILLO, Texas – The Colorado Mesa men's golf team completed the first two rounds of the annual Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational on Monday (Oct. 7) afternoon at Amarillo Country Club.
The Mavericks sit in third place on the team leaderboard following the first two rounds of action with a score of 7-under, 553. They were paired with current team leader and nationally ranked Oklahoma Christian who finished at 21-under, 539. Colorado School of Mines is in second at 9-under, 551.
Senior
Cole Beyer continues his great start to his final season as a Maverick. Beyer opened with a round of 2-under, 68 and backed it up with a 4-under, 66 in his two rounds. He finished the two rounds with 10 birdies and four bogeys.
Beyer caught fire to end his second round as he birdied five of his final six holes to get to 4-under to get into a tie for sixth place.
Leo Lavalle and
Luke Wagstaff each finished the two rounds at 3-under, 137.
St. Mary's Kangpop Kaikaew leads the tournament with an 11-under, 129.
