COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released their all-conference team for women's golf on Tuesday (May 23) morning. Colorado Mesa was well represented on the lists with four student-athletes named to one of the two teams.
Senior
Elly Walters was named to the All-RMAC First Team for the third time in her career. She finished her final season with the Mavericks with a 76.09 stroke average and played four rounds of par or better throughout the year. She shot back-to-back 74s at the Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Tournament in Pueblo where she finished as the runner-up.
The Rifle native shot a season best 71 three times including once in the opening round of the RMAC Championships. She is the program's all-time scoring average leader at 76.59 over 59 rounds in her career.
Sophomore
Cassidy Phelan was named to the All-RMAC Team for the second time in her career but this year she earned First Team honors. She finished the season with an all-time single season record of a 75.82 stroke average as she edged out her teammate (
Elly Walters, 2022) for the distinction. She won the Warrior Invitational this spring and was the runner-up in two other events during the fall.
The Henderson, Nev. native played three rounds of par or better and shot a season-best 69 in the third round of the Swan Memorial. The round of 69 tied the program record for the lowest score.
Crystle Querol was named All-RMAC Second Team for the second time in her career. She finished the season with a 79.42 stroke average and played two rounds of par or better. Her best round of the season came at the Nick Turner Invitational where she shot a 72 and finished in a tie for sixth-place.
Sadie Kelley was named to the All-RMAC Second Team for the first time in her career. She finished the season with a 80.23 scoring average and had a pair of top-15 finishes on the season coming at the Warrior Invitational and the Pack Classic.
CSU Pueblo's Mina Archer was named both the RMAC Golfer of the Year and Freshman of the Year while UCCS' Todd Laxon was named the RMAC Coach of the Year.
