GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University women's golf team will wrap up the fall season in paradise, playing in the Southwest Airlines Hawai'i Pacific University Sharks Shootout this Friday and Saturday at the Pearl at Kalauoa in 'Aiea on the island of O'ahu.
The 36-hole tournament will feature seven women's teams, who will play 18-hole rounds on both days.
Shotgun starts are slated for 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. HST (11:30 a.m./Noon Mountain) on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Last Time Out
The Mavericks played at last week's NCAA West Region Preview in Pueblo, Colorado, taking on many of the best teams in the region at the Pueblo Country Club, which will also play host to the NCAA Division II West Regional Championships in May, 2026.
The Mavericks finished 18
th out of 21 teams with a 36-hole team score of 643 (+75).
Defending national champion Dallas Baptist highlighted the very competitive field, which included 13 of last year's 18 regional qualifiers, and won the tournament by a wide 26-shot margin at 584 (+16).
Maverick sophomore
Hunter Gledhill led the Mav effort on both days, tying for 23
rd out of 110 players with a 36-hole score of 154 (+12). She posted rounds of 76 and 78 on the par-71 course.

Maverick Lineup
The Mavericks' announced lineup for the tournament includes four of the five same players as in the last tournament, including senior
Payton Panzeri, sophomore
Hunter Gledhill and freshman
Hayden Hawley and
Becca Washington. Redshirt junior
Libby Bourassa will return to the lineup after not playing in Pueblo in place of
Anju Ogi.
Panzeri, Gledhill and Hawley have been a part of coach
Kori Satterfield's lineup all season.
Panzeri leads the Mavs with a 77.13 scoring average through eight rounds while Gledhill has moved into a tie with Ogi for second on the team at 77.50.
Hawley has an 80.88 scoring average and has the team's lowest round of the season to date, a 1-under par round of 71 at the second round of The Swan Memorial, CMU's opening tournament.
Bourassa has an 84.00 scoring average in six rounds this fall while Washington has an 89.50 mark in four rounds, including two as an individual.
The Competition
All seven women's teams in this week's field are from the West Region and will represent four of the region's five conference.
Two Hawaiian squads in the hosts and Hawai'i Hilo are members of the Pacific West Conference. Saint Martin's, Seattle Pacific and Northwest Nazarene will all head over the ocean from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference while Texas A&M-Kingsville will represent the Lone Star Conference.
The Mavs are the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's lone representative.
The host Sharks are the highest ranked team in field, according to the initial (Oct. 16)

CMU is next at 77
th, just ahead of Seattle Pacific at No. 78. Texas A&M-Kingsville is next at No. 95 while Saint Martin's is just outside the top 100 at No. 101.
Back to Hawai'i
The Mavericks will wrap up their second straight fall season in Hawai'i this weekend. They also wrapped up the 2024 fall season in the nation's youngest state. Last fall, the Mavs spent several days on the Big Island playing in two tournaments in a span of six days. They finished 11
th out of 15 teams at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate and then tied for seventh at the last year's HPU Sharks Shootout.
Payton Panzeri and
Hunter Gledhill were both on that trip.
Panzeri led the Mavs in both events, posting a tie for 13
th place finish out of 78 teams at the Sharks Shootout with a 36-hole score of 148 (+4) after recording a pair of 74's in what was her best tournament of the entire season, score wise. She also recorded her best single round of the season during the Dennis Roster Intercollegiate, signing for a 73 (+1) in the first round before slipping back to a tie for 36
th place finish at 155 (+11) for the tournament.
Gledhill, a freshman at the time, tied for 63
rd at the Dennis Rose at 163 (+19) and tied for 54
th at the Sharks Shootout with a score of 160 (+16). All four of her rounds on the island were between 80 and 82.
