AIEA, Hawai'i— The Colorado Mesa University women's golf team closed out the fall half of the 2025-26 season with a seventh place finish at the Hawai'i Pacific University Sharks Shootout played Friday and Saturday here at the Pearl at Kalauao.
The Mavericks finished with a 36-hole team score of 705 (+129) after recording a round of 359 on Friday before shaving off that total to post a 346 on Saturday.
Freshman
Hayden Hawley led the Mavericks, tying for 20
th place with a 36-hole total of 170 (+26). She had the Mavs' best round of the tournament, an 83, on Saturday after also leading the Mavs with an 87 on Friday.
Payton Panzeri finished in a tie for 27
th at 173 (+29) while
Hunter Gledhill finished 32
nd at 177 (+33).
Becca Washington also contributed to the Mavs' team score on both days, finishing 35
th overall at 185 (+41).
Libby Bourassa was the Mavs' fifth player on both days and finished 38
th at 191 (+47).
The host Sharks won the team title at 628 (+52) and posted identical rounds of 314 on the tough par-72 layout. They also had the top two individual finishers as Shuiyun He won the individual crown at 154 (+10) after posting back-to-back rounds of 77. Teammate Isabella Iorio also carded a 77 on Saturday after finishing with a 79 on Friday.
Seattle Pacific's Lauren Lee was third at 157 (+13) after coming into Saturday tied with He for the individual lead. Her Falcon squad finished second in the team standings at 647 (+19) as well.
