SOUTH JORDAN, Utah – The Colorado Mesa women's golf team completed play at the Wasatch Invitational on Tuesday (Sept. 22) afternoon.
The Mavericks couldn't make up any ground in the team race as they finished in seventh with a two-round total of 635. The Mavericks shot a 318 in Tuesday's second and final round and were two strokes behind sixth-place Dominican of California.
Host Westminster claimed the team title as they shot 301 in their final round to finish at 610. Westmont finished second followed by MSU Denver, Fort Lewis and Colorado Christian.
Payton Panzeri shot a team-best 3-over, 75 in today's final round to finish in a tie for 16
th on the individual leaderboard. The senior had two birdies, three bogeys, and a double bogey in her round. She was four shots better today compared to yesterday's first round.
Fellow senior
Anju Ogi was the highest finishing Maverick as she was in a tie for 11
th place on the leaderboard. Ogi shot a final round of 7-over, 79 as she had a birdie, six bogeys, and a double.
Hayden Hawley and
Hunter Gledhill rounded out the Maverick scorers in Tuesday's round. Hawley shot an 8-over, 80 and Gledhill a 12-over, 84 to close out their tournament's.
Teammates Ashley Lam and Reimi Bleyl shared medalist honors as both finished the tournament at 3-over, 147.
The Mavericks will be back in action on Monday October 13 when they travel to Pueblo for the West Region Preview at Pueblo Country Club.
