AMARILLO, Texas – The Colorado Mesa men's golf team finished the final round of the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational at Amarillo Country Club on Tuesday (Oct. 3) morning.
The Mavericks finished the day where they started in ninth place after shooting a 4-over, 288 in today's final round. They finished just a stroke behind Cameron and four strokes behind fifth-place Western New Mexico who catapulted five spots for a top five finish.
DBU won the team title by three strokes over second place and host West Texas A&M.
Cole Beyer led the Mavericks as he finished his third and final round with an even par, 71. He had an evenly dispersed four birdies and four bogeys (two birdies and two bogeys on each nine) in the round to finish in a tie for ninth on the individual leaderboard.
Pablo Diaz finished the tournament 2-over, 215 after shooting 1-over, 72 on the day. After shooting a 2-over, 37 in his first nine holes before closing out with a 1-under, 35 on the back nine to finish in a tie for 13
th place.
UT Permian Basin's Sangha Park drained a birdie from the fringe on the first playoff hole to win the individual medalist honor with a 9-under, 204.
The Mavericks will be back in action next week at the Regis Fall Invitational at Walnut Creek Golf Course.
