NORMAN, Okla.— Colorado Mesa University sophomore golfer
Leo Lavalle was tabbed to the NCAA Division II PING All-South Central Region team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Tuesday.
The Queretaro, Mexico, native led the Mavericks to their first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship in program history and finished the year with a 71.28 scoring average, the second best in program history. He recorded four top five finishes throughout the season, including a tie for second at the RMAC Championships.
He also had 18 par or better rounds, including a pair of 65's, one of which was in the opening round of the RMAC Championships.
He currently sits 63
rd in the
latest (May 17) SCOREBOARD Powered by clippd NCAA Division II National Rankings and is ranked tenth in the South Central Region, which comprises RMAC and Lone Star Conference members.
Lavalle was one of 12 honorees from the region.
The Mavs have now been represented in two straight seasons after now volunteer assistant coach
Cole Beyer received the honor as a senior in 2024-25.
