Last Times Out

The Mavericks are coming off a 2-0 road weekend, which started with an 11-8 road win at CSU Pueblo on Friday night.

The Mavs then dominated Fort Lewis College, posting a 15-2 win over the Skyhawks on Sunday afternoon in Durango.

Against CSU Pueblo, the Mavs used a 5-goal run to build a 5-2 lead.  The ThunderWolves would pull within a goal on four separate occasions before two late goals helped ice what was the Mavs' first conference win.

Against Fort Lewis, the Mavs took a 7-0 halftime lead and led 8-0 and 9-2 before scoring the game's final six goals to implement a running clock in a blowout win.

Career Weekend

Maverick senior attack Devon Morris had a career weekend scoring seven goals while netting her first two career hat tricks.

The Davis, California native had three goals in Friday's win over CSU Pueblo and then scored four times against Fort Lewis.  She now has 12 goals this season, more than doubling her total of ten combined goals from her first three years.

Creeping closer to 100

Maverick senior Carson Dickey is inching closer to the 100 career goal mark.  She added two more in Friday's win at CSU Pueblo and now has 91 career goals.  She leads this year's team with 20.

Dickey also moved into sole possession of tenth place on CMU's point scoring charts on Friday.  She now has 121 career points surpassing teammate Ali Bryant, who finished with 119.

Approaching 100 at the other end

Meanwhile, sophomore goalkeeper Heather Hawkins is approaching the 100 save mark for the season and will enter this week's games with 85.  She ranks second in the RMAC with that total and could become just the third Maverick to ever record back-to-back 100+ save seasons.

Hawkins had 122 as a freshman last year as one of just seven 100+ save seasons in program history.

Welcome Back Tournament Foes

The Mavericks will be taking on both of the teams they faced in last year's RMAC Tournament that they hosted for the first time in 2025 this week.

The Mavs won 17-7 over fourth-seeded Westminster in the semifinal round of last year's tournament before falling 12-8 to Regis in the championship game.  The Mavs have played the Rangers in the title game in each of the last five years.

RMAC Standings Check

The Mavs' two wins lifted the Mavs into fourth place in the RMAC standings and back in the RMAC Tournament qualifying positions.

Westminster leads the conference at 5-0 ahead of 3-1 Regis and 3-2 UCCS.  A win on Wednesday, could put the Mavs in a tie for third in the RMAC standings.

CSU Pueblo is behind the Mavs at 1-4 while winless Fort Lewis is in last place at 0-5.

Each team will play ten conference games, facing each of the other five teams at home and on the road in a double round robin schedule.

The Mavs are at home for four of their final six regular season games over the final three weeks of the regular season after playing just one of their first four at home.

Coach's Corner

Ashley Delaney is in her third year as the Mavs' head coach and her seventh on the CMU staff after serving as an assistant for the four previous seasons from 2020-23.

The Mavs have gone 11-6 in both of Delaney's previous years as a head coach and posted a 33-19 combined record in her four years as an assistant under two previous head coaches.
She was named as the RMAC Coach of the Year in 2025 after leading the Mavs to a share of the RMAC Regular Season Championship and to hosting rights of the RMAC Tournament for the first time in program history.

She also helped the Mavs win a share of the RMAC crown in 2023 when she was an assistant coach.  The Mavericks are a combined 58-39 with her on the coaching staff and have played in all five RMAC Tournament Championship games with her on the staff.

Counting this year, Delaney now has a 25-20 record as the Mavs' head coach.

She and the Mavericks are 1-5 against Regis in her time as a head coach and 2-13 against the Rangers with her on the sideline.

Delaney is 5-1 against Westminster as the Mavs' head coach.  The Mavs are 11-1 against the Griffins in her time on the coaching staff.
