COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Caleb Schreiber has been selected as the 2025 Peach Belt Conference/Rocky Mountain Division Academic Player of the Year while leading a division-leading six Colorado Mesa University Maverick men's lacrosse players on the First Team All-Academic Team, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced on Thursday.
The Mavericks, who swept the division's regular season and tournament titles before going on to win the overall PBC Tournament crown to advance to the NCAA Tournament, also had 20 total selections to the Academic Honor Roll.

Logan Smith joined Schreiber on the first team. The Mavs' other 14 honor roll selections are listed below.
The 13-member first team was selected by a vote of the RMAC's athletic communication directors. To qualify for nomination to the first team, student-athletes must have a 3.5 or higher GPA, be in their second year at the nominating institution and have used a season of eligibility.
To qualify for honor roll status, student-athletes must have a 3.3 or higher GPA and meet the other requirements.
Schreiber, a junior midfielder out of Thornton, Colorado, has a perfect 4.00 GPA and is majoring in business administration. He was also selected to the First Team RMAC All-Academic squad in 2024 and received last year's RMAC Summit Award. He recorded 25 groundballs and eight caused turnovers while playing in all 17 of the Mavs' games this season.
Edwards, a senior computer information systems major, was named to the First Team for the third straight season and holds a 3.93 GPA. The Mavs' starting face-off man won 144 faceoffs, had a .569 winning percentage and scooped up 74 groundballs, marks that ranked him second in the division. He was named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Tournament team after winning 19 of 27 faceoffs while racking up 12 groundballs against Flagler in the Tournament's Championship game after winning 16 of 23 draws in the Rocky Mountain Division Tournament title game win over Concordia University Irvine. Edwards was also named as the division's defensive player of the week on Apr. 7 and won all four regular season and all four conference tournament championships during his career.
Kirschke, a junior business administration major and short stick defensive midfielder was also a repeat selection to the First Team RMAC All-Academic squad. He holds a 3.73 GPA. The Lone Tree, Colorado product was named to the First Team All-RMAC squad for the second straight year at his specialty position and went on to earn Second Team All-South Region and Honorable Mention All-America honors from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. He finished with 13 goals, 18 points, 24 groundballs and nine caused turnovers and put all 18 of his shots on net while finishing with a .722 shot and shot on goal percentage. Kirschke also registered his first two career hat tricks in the Rocky Mountain Division tournament.
Pless, a junior midfielder and business administration major, hails from Highlands Ranch, Colorado and as a 3.64 GPA. He was named to the First Team All-RMAC squad for the second straight year for his on-field play and was a key 2-way player for the Mavericks. He racked up 24 goals and 35 points at the offensive end, scoring in 15 of the Mavs' 17 games while racking up two hat tricks and seven 3-plus point games. He also had 13 groundballs and eight caused turnovers defensively.
Porter, is an outdoor recreation industry studies major and has a 3.74 GPA. The redshirt sophomore out of Parker, Colorado, started all 17 of the Mavs' games on defense and was named to the First Team All-Rocky Mountain Division squad after earning Feb. 26 Defensive Player of the Week honors. He was second on the Maverick squad with 16 caused turnovers, tied for fourth most in the division, and claimed 33 groundballs.
Smith, a senior midfielder and counseling psychology major, holds a 3.70 GPA and scored 23 goals and 31 offensive points as one of the Mavs' team captains. He scored in 14 different games and scored four goals and five points in a Mar. 20 win at nationally-ranked Saint Leo. He also registered 17 groundballs and six caused turnovers during the 2025 season.
