NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Colorado Mesa University men's basketball team earned two selections to the Great Western Shootout All-Tournament Team this morning as announced by the tournament staff.
The pair of Ty Allred and Clayton Jewell were selected for Colorado Mesa after helping the Mavericks to a 1-1 record in their final action of the 2025 calendar year and final two nonconference games.
Allred earned a pick to the team after averaging 19.5 points per game on the weekend and leading all rebounders with a 9.5 boards per game average. Allred shot an even 50 percent from the field going 15-for-30 while also collecting four blocks.
Jewell joins Allred on the team after also having a strong tournament averaging 13 points per game and seven rebounds. Jewell shots 46.7 percent from the field going 7-for-15, including a perfect mark from the free throw line at 12-for-12.
Dennis Johnson III of Western Washington was the tournament's MVP while eight total players were selected to the team.
