CLEVELAND, Ohio – With the conclusion of spring NCAA championships occurring last week, the final and official Learfield Directors' Cup standings were released on Tuesday (June 11) morning.
Overall, 15 sports are counted in the final DII standings, four of which must be women's volleyball and basketball and men's basketball and baseball. The next highest (11 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.
Colorado Mesa finished in a tie for 10
th place in the final standings with Pittsburg State with 665 total points. The Mavericks scored 199.5 points during the spring season as they picked up points in baseball, men's golf, softball and men's and women's track and field. The finish is a nice bounce-back following a 27
th place finish in last year's standings.
This is the third time the Mavericks had a top-10 finish in the Learfield Director's Cup standings after a ninth-place finish in 2021-22 and a school-best seventh-place finish during the 2018-19. The 665 points is a school record for most points in the Learfield Directors' Cup for Colorado Mesa.
Colorado Mesa accumulated 89 points in the fall season followed by a 376.5-point output in the winter season.
Grand Valley State won the Learfield Directors' Cup with 983 points followed by UIndy (901.25), West Texas A&M (900.25), Wingate (870), and Tampa (760.5) to round out the top-5 schools.
The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference had four teams in the top-25 of the standings with Colorado School of Mines in sixth-place, Colorado Mesa in 10
th, Adams State in 14
th, and CSU Pueblo in 24
th.
