GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University men's golf team was slotted 11
th in the first set of the NCAA Division II National Collegiate Golf Rankings announced on Wednesday.
The rankings are produced by SCOREBOARD Powered by Clippd and will be a major factor in the eventual NCAA Division II Super Regional selection process.
The Mavs are also ranked third as a team in the South Central Region.

Cole Beyer, who has won two of the Mavs' four tournaments thus this fall is also ranked ninth in the national individual rankings. He also sits third amongst South Central Region golfers as Colorado Christian's Sungyeop Cho and Adam Duncan top the national and regional rankings while helping the lead the Cougars, who are the defending NCAA Division II Champions, to the No. 1 spot in the team rankings.
A very detailed explanation of the national rankings methodology can be found here and are modernized and more comprehensive system of ranking teams and players than the former Golfstat rankings that had been a staple of the NCAA Tournament selection process for numerous years.
The Maverick men have compiled a 36-4-3 head-to-head record and have scored 42.20 average weighted points in the rankings this fall.
Beyer has a 49.45 weighted points mark through his 12 rounds this season.
They are also ranked 22nd in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll, run by the Golf Coaches Association of America. The Mavs received 35 points in the balloting of ten member coaches from around the country.
CMU will wrap up the fall season with two tournaments in Hawai'i next week and will then resume the year with the spring season, beginning in early March.
