FRESNO, Calif.— Julianna Campos and Devyn Rodriguez won a pair of matches and reached the quarterfinals of the doubles draw while Issy Coman and Makenna Livingston each won matches in singles and together in doubles to highlight a solid day of tennis for the Colorado Mesa University Mavericks on Thursday at the ITA West Regional Championships, which will run through Saturday.

Campos and Rodriguez knocked off Deepalakshmi Vanaraja and Haley Garcia of Dominican by an 8-3 score in the first round and then took care of Elise Leik and Daimy Paula of Fresno Pacific in the second round by an 8-6 score.

Meanwhile, Coman and Livingston were 8-4 victors over Olivia Madarang and Francesca Aguirre of Westmont in the opening round before being downed by the fourth-seeded Concordia Irvine pair of Sophie Rachor and Tiffany Carrillo, 8-6, in the round of 16.

In singles, Coman and Livingston both claimed opening round victories in straight sets.  Coman defeated the Academy of Art's Amelija Supulniece, 7-6 (7-1), 6-2 but dropped a 6-4, 6-1 match to No. 5 seed Sarah Olmos of Cal State LA in the second round.

Meanwhile, Livingston was a comfortable 6-2, 6-1 winner over Hawai'i Pacific's Lynn Kader in the opening round before winning the first set of her second round match against Azusa Pacific's Cristiana Miruna Tudor.

However, Tudor came back to win the second set, 6-3 and then won the 10-point match tie-breaker, 10-2.

Three other Mavs played consolation singles matches on Thursday evening.  Rodriguez defeated Kambra Roles of MSU Denver, 6-1, 6-2 while Campos was a 6-1, 6-1 winner over Georgina Parr.  Dellia Maier went 0-2 throughout the day.
