PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa women's golf team played their second consecutive solid round of golf and came away with a tie for second place finish at the CSU Pueblo Pack Classic on Monday (Mar. 20) afternoon at Walking Stick Golf Course.
 
The Mavericks fired a 9-over, 297 in their second round to finish the tournament with a 23-over, 599. The 599 is the third best 36-hole round in program history.
 
Colorado Mesa topped nationally ranked foes No. 46 Simon Fraser, No. 50 Sonoma State and No. 31 Western Washington.
 
Redshirt senior Elly Walters had the round of the day as she shot a 1-under, 71 in her second round to close with a 7-over, 151 for the tournament. She led a trio of Colorado Mesa golfers who all finished in a tie for 13^th place with a 151.
 
She gained 30 spots on the individual leaderboard as she finished with four birdies and three bogeys in her round on Monday. She started out with two bogeys on her third and fourth holes of the day but played 3-under golf the rest of the way.
 
Sadie Kelley and Cassidy Phelan each finished the tournament with a 151 and a tie for 13^th place on the leaderboard. Kelley fired a 4-over, 76 in her final round while Phelan had a 5-over, 77 for her second round.
 
Brittlynn O'Dell had a solid round with a 1-over, 73 in her final round to finish one stroke back of the pack.
 
CSU Pueblo's Minna Archer and Kylie Severin tied for the individual medalist honors at 2-over, 146.
 
Colorado Mesa will be back in action on March 27 as they will be at the Cal State San Marcos Spring Invitational.
