GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Colorado Mesa University women's golf team look to take on the biggest tournament of their season this coming Sunday through Tuesday as they travel to Boulder City, Nev. to take part in the RMAC Women's Golf Championships.
The Mavericks will be a part of a field of 10 schools for this tournament with the three-day event taking place at Boulder Creek Golf Course for a fourth year in a row.
Tee times will be staggered each day with Sunday's action beginning at 11 a.m. MDT and feature the Mavs' teeing off between 12:12 p.m. and 12:57 p.m. MDT.
The RMAC Men's Golf Championships will also be happening at the same time as the women's with the golf course featuring 27 holes and hosting both Championships together.

Format
This week's tournament will be contested in a play six, score four format where teams will be permitted to play six players, all of whom will be eligible to score for the team. The best four scores in each round will then count towards the team score.
This same format was previously used in the Maverick Challenge Tournament this past weekend with this being the first time utilized at the upcoming RMAC Championships which is different from the traditional play, five score format.
Maverick lineup
Maverick Coach Kori Satterfield has entered six women into the RMAC Tournament with no individuals permitted to play. The group of Payton Panzeri, Anju Ogi, Hunter Gledhill, Hayden Hawley, McKenzie Dolph and Libby Bourassa will make up the Mavs' group of six eligible team scorers.
Last time out
The Mavericks last played in their lone home tournament of the season this past weekend when they hosted the Maverick Challenge at Redlands Mesa Golf Club. The Mavs took second out four teams while sitting just three strokes behind Westminster University who won the tournament.
Anju Ogi led the Maverick effort, finishing in third place overall with a 36-hole total of 154 (+10).
Ogi's Sunday round score of 74 was equal to the best of the day and her best score on the season.
Her and four others all finished in the top 10 of the field with Hunter Gledhill (+15) finishing fourth, Hayden Hawley (+17) finishing eighth, Libby Bourassa (+18) finishing ninth and individual Mackenzie Goudreau (+21) finishing tied for 10th.
The Mavs concluded the tournament totaling 24 birdies as a team while battling off stormy weather conditions that persisted all weekend.
Season recap
The Mavericks have played nine total tournaments this season dating back to Sept. 8, 2025, for their first time out when they took part in The Swan Memorial in Broomfield, Colo.
Of the nine tournaments they have taken four top five finishes with one tournament win at the SMSU Challenge.
The Mavs have also had 12 different top 10 finishes by individuals. Beyond that number, five golfers have had top five finishes with their also being one individual winner.
In their lone tournament win, they shot 615 (+55) to win the SMSU Challenge by 11 strokes while having three top five finishers, including Payton Panzeri who won the individual title with a five over performance.
The Mavs' best single round team score of 300 (+12) came in the second round of the Southern Colorado Open on Mar. 23.
15 rounds of 75 or better have been recorded as well with Hayden Hawley having the only below par round on the season when she shot a 71 (-1) on Sept. 9 at The Swan Memorial.
Tournament History
The Mavericks finished in fourth place of last year's RMAC Championships while having four placers in the top 25 of the field.
As a team, the Mavs shot 36-over while being 16 strokes back of CSU Pueblo who won the tournament with a team score of 884. Westminster and Colorado Christian finished just behind CSU Pueblo to tie for second place with team scores of 887.
Hunter Gledhill capped off her freshman campaign with a third-place finish at the tournament shooting an even 216 and being the only player from Colorado Mesa to earn a medal. She shot rounds of 74, 72 and 70 over the three days with the third-place finish being the best of her career.
Payton Panzeri finished in a tie for 11th place while shooting eight over with two rounds of 75 and one of 74.
Last year's seniors, Brittlyn O'Dell and Cassidy Phelan were the Mavs' final two top 25 finishers with O'Dell finishing t-15th and Phelan at t-23rd.
McKenzie Dolph also competed in last year's tournament with her being one of three returners on the team to have played this course before.
In the last three years that the RMAC Championships have been held in Boulder City the Mavs have taken home top five finishes each time with their best finish being second in 2023.

Following this week's results at the RMAC Championships, the Mavs will wait to see if they enter NCAA Division II West Region Championships which will take place later this month. The winner of the RMAC Championships will receive an automatic berth into the Region Championships while other schools from the region will receive at-large bids based on their performance throughout the year.
