COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released their women's golf all-conference selections this past week. Colorado Mesa walked away with two individuals on the team and one of the top honors.
Elly Walters was named to the First Team for the second straight season as she set a school record for the best scoring average in the program's history at 76.00. She finished the season with a program single season best 44 birdies and had five top ten finishes at tournaments. The two-time RMAC Summit Award winner was named the RMAC Golfer of the Week after her second-place finish at the Biola Eagle Invitational where she shot 74-73 against some of the best players in the region.
Maverick freshman
Cassidy Phelan was named to the second team and earned RMAC Freshman of the Year honors after her first collegiate campaign. She finished the season with a 79.15 stroke average and shot a low round of 73 at the West Texas A&M Desert Invite. She finished 12
th at the Biola Eagle Invitational and finished in a tie for 15
th at the RMAC Championships.
Colorado Christian's Faith Kilgore was named the RMAC Golfer of the Year and her coach Philip Nelson the RMAC Coach of the Year.
