GREENSBORO, N.C.— The 2022 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships continued on Thursday morning here at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
The Colorado Mesa University Mavericks were represented in five of the six events, which had preliminary heats on Thursday morning, by 12 different swimmers. They advanced two to the championship finals and another to the consolation finals.
Here is a brief update on their performances. A full recap will be posted on Thursday night following the finals session, which begins at 6 p.m. EST (4 p.m. Mountain).

Men's 100 Fly
Freshman
Dejan Urbanek finished 27
th with a time of 48.42 seconds while redshirt junior
Lane Austin placed 38
th in 49.65.
Women's 400 Individual Medley
Lily Borgenheimer qualified for her second championship final in as many days, taking the No. 7 spot with a preliminary round time of 4:21.25. She finished fifth in the 200 IM on Wednesday.
Davy Brown finished 31
st in the preliminaries with a time of 4:28.58 while
Amelia Kinnard took a declared false start.
Men's 400 Individual Medley
Matt Barrett finished 27
th with a time of 4:03.91 while freshman
Jacob Troescher, was 28
th in 4:06.23.
Women's 200 Free
Kelsea Wright joined Borgenheimer in Thursday night's championship finals, finishing seventh in the preliminaries with a time of 1:49.91, just off her season-best of 1:49.55.
Lauren White will also swim in the consolation final after qualifying 13
th in 1:50.31.
Katerina Matoskova is the first alternate after finishing the preliminaries in 17
th place. She posted a time of 1:50.74.
Men's 200 Free
Matheus Laperriere is also an alternate for the finals, after finishing 18
th place with his preliminary round swim of 1:37.95.
Kuba Kiszczak was 22
nd with a time of 1:38.12.
Women's 3-meter Diving
Three Mavericks will be amongst the 22 qualifiers out of Tuesday's pre-championship qualification meet.
Kyra Apodaca,
Jolynn Harris and
Ali Lange will all contest 11 dives, beginning at 2 p.m. EST (Noon Mountain). The top eight will advance to the finals session, where they will repeat their six optional dives. The ninth through 16
th place finishers out of the preliminaries will score team points and earn Second Team CSCAA All-America honors but will not compete during the evening session.

Harris had finished fifth in Tuesday's pre-championship qualification meet with a 6-dive score of 249.20 points. Lange was ninth with 242.20 while Apodaca was 11
th with 239.60 as each secured their spots in the official championship field.
Evening Representation
The evening finals session will begin at 6 p.m. EST (4 p.m. Mountain). Here are the list of Mavericks who will compete.
The Maverick men will enter the evening in fifth place in the team standings while the CMU women were 15
th after the first day.
Event #14- Women's 400 IM- Lily Borgenheimer will compete in the championship final.
Event #16- Women's 200 Free- Lauren White will swim in the consolation final before
Kelsea Wright will swim in the championship final.
Event #18- Women's 3m Diving- If any of the Mavericks finish in the top eight of the afternoon preliminaries, they will contest six dives during the evening session, with their compulsory dive scores from the afternoon carrying forward.
Event #19- Women's 400 Medley Relay- The Mavericks are seeded 13
th out of 19 entered teams with a seed time of 3:45.22. They will swim in the second of three heats. The Mavs' 200 medley relay team was disqualified for an early take off on Wednesday night.
Event #20- Men's 400 Medley Relay- The Mavericks are seeded eighth out of 21 steams with a seed time of 3:12.76 and will be in the final heat. The 200 medley relay squad finished sixth on Wednesday night, the highest ever relay finish for the Maverick men.
