GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.— The Colorado Mesa University men's and women's swimming and diving squads have both been recognized for their continued academic strength as each were named CSCAA (College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America) Scholar All-America Teams for the recently completed 2026 spring semester, it was announced by the organization on Wednesday.
The Maverick women have achieved the honor in each of the last 26 semesters dating back to the fall of 2013. The Maverick men have now been selected in 18 out of the last 19 semesters.
The Maverick women earned the honor after posting a team GPA of 3.77 during the semester. The men had had a GPA of 3.33.
A total of 714 programs from 418 institutions earned the honor, which required CSCAA member programs to have a 3.00 or higher team GPA during the semester. Collectively, these teams represent 16,680 student-athletes from across all collegiate divisions.
"This recognition celebrates the remarkable commitment these student-athletes make to excellence both in the classroom and in competition," said CSCAA Executive Director Samantha Barany. "The 714 teams honored this spring represent the very best of collegiate swimming and diving, demonstrating that academic success and athletic achievement go hand in hand. We congratulate every student-athlete, coach, and institution recognized."
