Last Time Out
The Mavericks had a difficult start to the spring portion of the season last weekend, dropping matches to Ottawa University of Arizona, Western New Mexico University and Arizona Christian University last Friday and Saturday in metropolitan Phoenix. The Mavs fell 6-1 in the first and last matches against the NAIA foes and were defeated 4-3 by fellow NCAA Division II Western New Mexico in their second contest on Friday.
The Mavericks were playing from behind in all three matches as they won only one doubles match in each of the three duals.
Meanwhile, the Mavs managed three singles wins against Western New Mexico taking, the No. 2, 3 and 5 matches thanks to
Jorge Abreu,
Moises Cure and
Tegan Hartman.
Cure also won his No. 3 singles match against Arizona Christian after
Christian Albrechtsen won his No. 4 match against Ottawa.
All six Mavericks to play over the weekend claimed a doubles win.
Consistent Doubles

He has a team-best 6-5 overall singles record and is 4-1 in duals. He played at No. 4 in both duals of the fall season before seeing action at both the No. 2 and 3 spots this past weekend.
Howe has been at the top of the lineup all season, going 3-2, while his doubles partner Abreu has played four of the five duals in the second spot of the lineup, going 4-1, including his 3-1 No. 2 mark.
Albrechtsen has split time at No. 3 and 4 while van Wyk went 2-2 at No. 5 singles before moving down a spot to No. 6 for Saturday's match-up with Arizona Christian, which he retired from after winning the first set due to injury. Instead, freshman
Tegan Hartman got the start at No. 5 against the Firestorm.
