TEMPE, Ariz.— The Colorado Mesa University men's and women's tennis teams as well as 17 of their individual players received recognition for their academic successes from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, which announced its 2026 NCAA Division II Academic Awards on Tuesday.
The Maverick women received All-Academic Team status for the seventh straight year after posting a 3.79 combined GPA during the 2025-26 academic year, well over the 3.2 requirement for qualification.
The Maverick men also received the recognition for the third straight year after recording an even better 3.81 mark.
The Maverick men also had ten student-athletes receive the individual ITA Scholar-Athlete award, matching the program record from a year ago. The women had seven honorees.
To receive that award, individual student-athletes must have registered a 3.5 or higher GPA during the 2025-26 academic year.
Notably,
Emil Hultman and
William Leschig were named for the fourth straight year on the men's side while
Jane Steur can say the same on the women's side.
