TEMPE, Ariz.— Colorado Mesa University tennis players
Jandre van Wyk,
Tegan Hartman and
Makenna Livingston were all included in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's NCAA Division II Regional Rankings, recently announced by the organization.
Van Wyk and Hartman were ranked eighth in the West Region men's doubles rankings while Livingston was tabbed 14th in the women's singles rankings.
The rankings were largely based on the results of the ITA West Regional, although the entire fall season was considered.
VanWyk, a redshirt sophomore from Pretoria, South Africa, and Hartman, a true freshman out of Idaho Falls, Idaho, went 4-2 in doubles action the fall, including a 2-0 record at the No. 3 doubles spot in the Mavs' Sept. 17 dual wins over Dallas Baptist and Colorado College.
They were then seeded seventh going into the ITA Regional and won their Round of 16 match after receiving an opening round bye before being downed in the quarterfinals by the third seeds to end the fall season.
Livingston, a freshman out of Huntington Beach, California, was 3-2 in tournament singles play in the fall. She went 2-1 at the ITA West regional advancing to the Round of 16 with a pair of first day wins over Academy of Art players. She also posted a 3-2 doubles record with partner
Maike Waldburger during the fall.
The Maverick tennis teams are slated to begin the spring portion of their seasons on Feb. 11 in Glendale, Arizona.
